Rude and arrogant manager

I had a table booked for 12 of my friends and family for my birthday. Unfortunately, there has been a death in my family which meant dinner plans could no longer go ahead. I called the restaurant to let them know as curtesy to be confronted by an arrogant manager who very rudely said 'you should have called me earlier, it's short notice'. I didn't realise death was a planned activity. I replied 'how dare you speak to me like that, I called you as soon as I could' to be told 'not good enough' and then had the phone put down!!!! I wish I never called so he could be stuck with 12 empty chairs.

poor attitude

We arrived after a couple of drinks at around ten pm one Friday night. We were greeted by a very curt, grouchy manager who refused to let us choose our own table in an "empty" restaurant! He then tried to put us under a very brightly lit table to start with which I refused. Finally we agreed on a third table. The manager definitely has mental problems........He could see he had ruffled my feathers, which he seemed to get off on. Next the prawn crackers arrived with filthy recycled dips!!(bits of crumbs etc in them and at differing levels of fill)! They don't appear to make them fresh for each customer like most restaurants do. The cutlery is washed by hand on the floor in a dirty looking washing up bowl next to the toilets. The bill arrived quickly and we had been charged £8.00 for two small cokes which we queried. The bill was then changed to £4.00 (guess they figure most people are too drunk to notice). We left without leaving a tip. Now I know why this place is always empty and needs to offer pile it high food to draw a few unsuspecting customers in. Needless to say I wont be returning. Diabolical service, attitude and very poor hygiene.

Fairly unpleasant overall

Service

Quality

Value

Bad value for money, unsatisfactory service, poor quality food and after two arguments with the waiters made for a fairly unpleasant. The total bill came to £60 for 3 people, £15 each for the 'all you can eat' and £15 for 2 Cokes and a pot of Jasmine tea. On Sat 13th of July, we spontaneously decided to try this restaurant after spotting the 'all you can eat' sign at the door. The restaurant was fairly empty yet the waiter guided us to a table in the darkest corner of the room, which was pushed against a door and had a faulty light above that was blinking on and off. We suggested we would prefer a more openly placed table and moved. Another waiter then informed us that if we left any food on our plates, we would be charged double for the meal. At that point we had a discussion about whether we should leave, as we didn't want to feel pressurised to eat every last piece of onion in case we were charged double. On seeing we were about to depart, four waiters gathered around our table to convinced us that they would not be charging us double and in their words 'would make sure we were looked after.' At this point we had already eaten some of the prawn crackers that had been placed on the table, so felt obliged to stay. The first starters arrived so quickly I was slightly concerned about how long ago they had been cooked, worried that we might be in for a night of stomach issues. Then we started ordering simple dishes like soup and broccoli and the dishes were much better. We asked for the bill and found that they had charged us 3 times for the jasmine tea because apparently they charge for filling it up again with hot water. My partner tried to suggest that this was an unfair cost and they responded by saying 'they knew he was going to be trouble when he first walked in and would try to get out of paying.' To save from having to spend any more time arguing, he paid in full and we left, needless to say never to return.

really lovely restaurant

Service

I have been to this restaurant several times and the food is fantastic, it is a buffet but the food it all freshly cooked and bought to the table. You can eat as much as you like but best to order little at a time as the portion sizes are quite big. The staff are friendly and it is very good value for money.
