Heavenly

This place really is heavenly. Set overlooking the beautiful Ouse valley in the little village of Fletching, the extensive gardens of this Gastro style pub overlook the south downs...and the view is just breath taking! There are plenty of places to sit out for a meal or a drink in the summer months - picnic tables in the furthest corners of the gardens and smarter tables closer to the bulding. There are also tables in the bar, and smarter tables in the dining room inside. In the frosty winter months indulge in a table by one of roaring log fires. But if it's warm enough make sure you get a table outside and take in the staggering views!The food here is British mainly, with a few international twists. The game is divine and the wine list extensive! In the summer months there is a very impressive BBQ in the gardens every Sunday. Heaven comes with a price, however, and expect to pay a princely sum even for a relatively modest meal. This is a great, tranquil little place to go for a family lunch or dinner - very child friendly and they cater for large groups brilliantly. The enormity of the gardens makes it a rather nice place for a romantic meal too though, so don't rule it out if there are just two of you.As it is a bit out in the sticks, it's a blessing the pub has it's own private carpark. However, it does get rather full up, but fortunately there is a pay and display carpark just over the road.Booking is advisable as they are a popular destination for locals and out of towners alike. OH, and the Inn also has some rooms for overnight stays that look beautiful from the website. I've never tried the rooms out though, so cannot really comment on them.
