Conveniently situated in the centre of Poole old town high street this small and cosy restaurant welcomes tourists and locals alike. For the summer months the restaurant boasts a courtyard garden.
I tend to go to Pizza Express a lot on a Friday evening after work with friends. It's a great place to go for some good wine, quick and tasty food at a reasonable price. It is great for people watching as most of the tables are located by the window overlooking the old Poole town high street. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and is very sociable. It is also a nice place to go as a family. The menu obviously focuses very much of Pizzas, however there are other choices including some very appetising salads. There is a wide choice of pizzas to choose from but I do feel they are a tad of the expensive side for the size. However, we normally have dough balls and olives to start and a pizza each sharing a bottle of wine or two so spilt between a few of you it comes out quite reasonable and an enjoyable evening.

I went to this restaurant with a friend for a leisurely meal and natter on a Friday eve, I must say that the service was good and they weren't rushing us or trying to get us out the door to free up the table for the next people which is nice. The food was quite good, we had garlic bread to start (bit tight on the portion size) followed by pizza and then a really scrummy and fattening pudding to finish off. I think the name doesn't help the place really, doesn't conguer up images of a relaxed authentic Italian meal! There are better and more "Italian" pizza places on the Quay, this place was fine but not much ambience or atmosphere in general we felt. Its nice to have the feel of the food you are eating to really enjoy it I think.

We love pizza express- and we are fussy!! It is always busy in here and has a really nice atmosphere. The lights are dim and music plays in eh background. The staff are really helpful. The last time we went we had 2 bottles of red wine that were corked and the manager was really helpful and carried on opening bottles until a good one was found! The service is really good overall. The food is delicious. Not many places were you could get a really nice thin-based authentic pizza. The menu is quite wide and changes all the time so there is a lot of variety. The desserts are really delicious. Perfect place for a weeknight mean out.
