NEVER AGAIN!

WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER HADTHE MIS FORTUNE OF EATING IN! Looks great on the outside and then you make the mistake and go in. Waitress was nice, english too. Place decorated ok, nothing special. Then the table we were offered did not appeal to us and waitress made a face as to say something negative. We seated and then asked for water as im diabetic and partner doesnt drink alcohol. Waitress said dont serve water because otherwise people would come in at luchtime and just eat the food! I stressed that i wasnt happy with this and wanted to see the manager. The "manager" came and had attitude before she even spoke and told me that they dont serve water because they cannot guarantee the purity! What garbage as all water comes from the mains! We didnt buy this and stated that we believed this was wrong, but decided to eat anyway as we were there and hungry and had never had an indian eat all you want buffet before. Went up to the buffet and past the "kitchen" and there was no cooking taking place at anytime that we were ther, just plenty of microwave action. The food itself was more curried soups than curried meats as it was really very little meat which had to be hunted for and mainlt sauce, the other bits and pieces they had were nothing to write home about either. When we went back with our first of two plate fulls, the manager, who was dress like she was at a boot sale and not managing a restaurant, sarcastically asked without stopping if our meal was ok. I witnessed during our meal, who i assume was the son of the family aged about 8 to 10 giving out some food to diners from the kitchen which i thought was even more unprofessional and surely having a child working at past nine pm was against the law too. I also saw the assumed husband/partner take orders for drinks from some diners who was dressed in jeans and tee shirt, not what you would expect for a restaurant, particularly on a saturday night. After our second plate of "food", we went to pay the bill and i asked why the kitchen staff were washing plates if they could not guarantee the safety of the water to which she said that there were two mains into the restaurant and only one was completely safe. Ridicuolous. Upon questioning her about it, she revealed that even if the water was fine that she would not serve it anyway and the went in a strop and didnt say thank you or cheerio when i did! Pathetic place with bad service, NOT customer friendly and food that looks like iits been blended and definately NOT cooked when you are there and the kitchen staff looked very miserable too. Definately leaves a bad taste in your mouth and tarnishes the lovely town of torquay. I look forward to returning in a year and seeing new owners there as the current rude and unprofessional ones will NOT survive as the business will go down.
