Couldn't / Wouldn't fix my bikes

Couldn't fix my bikes, yet charged me for the privilege of 'looking at them' - Bicycle vendor who couldn't be bothered to fix my online purchased bike, advised me to send it back to the manufacturer (their standard answer for everything remotely new, despite return hassles of most online purchases). A fob off basically, after charging me £40 for their technicians to lube, tinker and tighten a few nuts for 5 minutes. I found out later all they needed to do was change the axle bolt and crank bearings, which I performed myself. I guess the low cost bike and cheap replacement parts dictated it wasn't even worth their while keeping it in their workshop, taking up space more profitable ventures could use. Having moved towards the e-bike market, they only seem to be interested in working on high end-bikes to make repairs worth their while. An almost snooty elitist attitude. However, a second bike I brought in for repairs (this time an entry level, but high-end road bike) they completely missed picking up on serious issues with the free hub.. Whether it that was intentional or a genuine mistake, I have no idea, I can only speculate but surely a Cytech technician should have spotted the faults a mile off! Replacement parts ordered from abroad and fixed by another brand registered vendor (for free). Puffing Billy will never have our custom again. Total waste of our time and money using them. I don't even know what their purpose is (?) other than to stand there in oily aprons telling everyone to “send their bikes back”. Too incompetent to fix anything without charging silly money.
