Back in April, 2009 we stayed at Blue Waters Holiday Apartments and couldn't have chosen a better place for a seaside break in Paignton on the English Riviera. Our room, apartment 1, had a great view of the sparkling blue sea across bay. Blue Waters apartments make an excellent base for exploring the cliffs, bays, coves, beaches and harbours of Paignton and the bay. Step out from Blue Waters holiday apartments and you are 150 meters from the friendly Goodrington sands beach. Days were spent walking along the beach and up the winding path to Roundham Cliff Gardens before heading back to the apartment for a cuppa. When we could drag ourselves away we visited the nearby sandy beaches of Torquay and Paignton. And no trip to Devon is complete without a visit to beautiful Brixham with its photogenic pastel coloured cottages that look as if they are tumbling into the harbour. After strolling around the picturesque harbour we treated ourselves to fish and chips and a deliciously creamy Devon ice cream. Since that first visit to delightful Devon we have returned to stay at Blue Waters holiday apartments many times. Occasionally we have rocked up a little earlier than the booking in time of 1:00 pm and Chris, the proprietor, has always let us have the room if it is ready, which we think is very generous, and gets a big fat thumbs up from us. We have stayed in two of its three self-catering apartments, had a wonderful week in the static caravan which is set in the pretty palm tree garden of Blue Waters. Enjoyed several mini breaks in the cosy bed and breakfast room. Among its other benefits there is a mini fridge, microwave, tea making facilities and we especially appreciate that you can come and go as you please - there are no restrictions. What's not to like. We had a ‘whale' of a time while staying in Apartment 1 on June 29, 2010. It was during breakfast, while I was munching on my toast, and taking in the lovely sea views across Torbay that this apartment enjoys that my husband spotted this big thing out in the bay. “That looks like a whale out there†he said rushing to get the binoculars to get a better view. Ken said†it is a whale, I can see a spume of water coming from his spout†handing me the binoculars so I could have look. I saw the top of its head come out of the water, then it dived down again and the rest of its body followed. According to the local paper Herald Express, what we saw was a sperm whale. They go on that it is very rare for the animal to travel as far east as this and to come so close to the shore. We were delighted to have had an once-in-a-lifetime rare sighting of a whale during our visit to Blue Waters holiday apartments.

We had a fantasic holiday at Blue Waters, a lovely apartment and one that accepts pets, it had a lovely tiled floor, easy to keep clean, we have already booked our holiday here for next year, in fact we were lucky to get in, which shows how popular it is. Outstanding!
