Welcome to sMaRT Employment Law, the specialist employment law and HR consultancy run by me, Mark Treacher. I provide expert advice, assistance and support to businesses and organisations - both large and small - and to individuals on the full range of employment law issues.

I also represent excellent value for money and prefer to work on a fixed fee or retainer basis as I recognise the value of you being able to budget your expenditure. Having said that, I am completely flexible and if you prefer a more traditional “pay as you go" arrangement, then that's fine. Either way, I will discuss your requirements and the charges for my services with you at the outset, so that my fees will be fixed or so I can provide you with a clear estimate of cost.
I am based in Devon, but with a fast rail-link into London and being close to the M5 I operate throughout the UK.

I specialise in the conduct of contentious employment cases on behalf of employers, so when disputes with employees do result in an Employment Tribunal claim, I can provide representation to achieve the best outcome for your business. I regularly represent employers in claims involving:

However, in the first instance, my primary aim is to assist you in avoiding disputes with your employees, but when disputes do arise, I will work closely with you to try and resolve the issue as quickly and as efficiently as possible.
I am regularly involved in the provision of training to supervisors and managers on a range of employment law related topics. I also run regular breakfast briefings for my clients and produce regular employment law updates.
