I just have to advise people, this was not a good experience. The place was dirty and scruffy, the cutlery and glasses really were a disgrace. The food was passable, but cold and the serving staff surely. The main dish was not really recognisable as lamb and the whole plate was awash with an acrid smelling sauce that made everything taste the same. This was to have been a special treat for us and it was completely ruined. Not least of all by a steward whose only comment to our one complaint of cold food was “You think yours is bad you should see what I have to eat, so don't complain to me!!" BE WARNED

best place to eat in Bowness
This is a friendly and busy place, so get there early as it fills up quite quickly. No doubt the locals like it as well! It was brilliant to park just across the road and then go to the pictures straight after the meal. Try the crispy duck - best I have had for a long time.
