Close by is the well-known Stock Ghyll park, a delightful wooded ravine topped by a beautiful waterfall - just right for an early morning stroll. Out over the treetops views extend to the Fairfield Horsehoe and the Langdale Pikes beyond, while Wansfell (1500 ft) rises behind.
