Went for a drink with my friend. Bar man asked what I would like. Glass of Merlot, said I. Sorry we don't have any said barman. I asked what red wine they had and the response was: a fruity one! So I settled for that. Two weeks later - went back for tea with my friend. Barman asks what I would like to drink - I wanted a Merlot. Sorry, we don't have any was the response. So I asked for a Shiraz. A what, was the response. No, we don't have any of that. I asked what red wine they had. None! was the reply. We only have rose or white. Silly me - I thought I was in a pub. I settled for a coke!!! My friend ordered lasagne (which was okay). I ordered chicken parmesan which was completely and utterly tasteless (the chef who was stood at the bar watching football, looked extremely put out when I asked for lots of chilli's on my parmesan muttering to the barman, that I should have ordered a hot-shot (which cost more but wasn't on the menu, though I wasn't charged for the extra chilli's at the end of the day)). I can't prove anything, but next morning I was very ill. I had only eaten salad for lunch so I have put my illness down to the chicken but as I say - there could have been other reasons for my illness. The place was cold, about 6 people in and devoid of atmosphere. I won't be going back. I also thought that a chicken parmesan and a coke at almost £10 was a bit overpriced to be honest.

Went here for carvery, possibly the worst carvery I have ever experienced. Service was terrible. Food was poor, if you are quite happy eating frozen microwave food then this place might seem ok. expensive drinks that where also quite poor (beer)

I had been looking forward to trying the food at The Mitre as I had drove past a few times and noticed it had be revamped. What a dissapointment it was firstly the place was cold whilst we waited for our order of a chicken Parmo and a chicken dansak curry. The Curry looked liked it was the remains from a pan from the day before as it was cold and the smallest portion ive ever seen served in all my life, I beleive they even new it was too little and supplimented it with an extra Nan bread. The chicken Parmo was also small in size, and lacking in taste so were the chips looking very pale and bland.

Really looking forward to a nice meal .... and what a disappointment.I had a chicken dinner,Yorkshire puds were frozen then microwaved....couldnt get the knife thru them, and all but the carrots were tinned...tasteless.Drinks very expensive too.Wont be repeating the experience.
