I always enjoy a rare mummies night off at the Grape Escape. It's just lovely; with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, great wine and delicious camembert. I can't wait for my next visit on Friday.

I went with a friend on Sunday (2/11/14) afternoon. There were no other customers in. It was our first visit and we were both quite excited as we thought it was a great idea and a great new concept and in theory sounded really appealing. We were given a sort of credit card with £30 credit on it and told we could help ourselves to the different wines on offer and there were three sizes available - a TASTER size, a 125cl size and a 175cl size. There was a good choice of white and red and two rose` . on the picture the 175cl looked like a full glass but though we both chose that measure it was less than half a glass (with an average price of £5 a glass) so not cheap! we ordered an expensive baked camembert with an onion chutney and sliced baguette. Meanwhile a family of six arrived sat down and also ordered....40 minutes after placing our order for the baked cheese the family of six had already been served their food. We questioned where ours was and we were told another few minutes! at that point we all (even the family of 6) heard the microwave being set!! to add insult to injury the size of the baguette served was TINY and the chutney (for the two of us) was served on what can only be described as a dessert spoon so barely enough for one let alone two! So to say we were both very disappointed is an understatement! Its a shame as its such a great idea! but sadly a rip off! and no apology for the delay! we should have gone to Tesco bought two BOTTLES of wine, a proper baguette, some camembert and chutney and gone home and had it! would have cost less and been ready sooner. Sorry! but not impressed at all. wont be returning any time soon.
