The Shakespeares Globe Theatre is wonderful. An over the top artistic creation that is sensational to look at and even better to see a performance in. If you really want to feel like part of the action and experience the thrill of it all, then go for the very cheap standing only tickets. It is such fun, you get closer views and you can mingle and move about more too. The cost for these is an outstanding, £5, an amount of money that is really next to nothing for London. Mind you some of the performances can be quite long, but if you buy standing tickets for gigs then you will be fine. The main problem could be the open air aspect, which means you are stuffed if it rains and you may get wet.

Bardilicious!
If you want an authentic Shakespeare experience, this is the place to go without shadow of a doubt. The Globe's Artistic Director Dominic Dromgoole has committed to authenticity and excellence – and the Globe has both of these in spades. The seating can be uncomfortable and the views restricted, but if you can stand through all 3 hours of an uncut Hamlet then you will really get a feel of what the Bard of Avon's first audiences may have felt! Ideally you should also be drunken and smelly – but this level of authenticity is probably a step to far for the Globe for the 21st century! Excellent venue, hosts modern plays too, and one of the best places to get a flavour of Shakespeare's world, even if the National Theatre is a little bit slicker, sometime it's better to rough it in the Great British outdoors!

doesn't dissapoint
Going to Shakespeare's Globe is one experience that just doesn't disappoint. I've been several times a year for the past few seasons. Most fun (even though I'm in my sixties) is to go and stand - tickets cost £5. This to me is actually preferable to paying for a seat: the groundlings (i.e. those standing) have an infectious sense of involvement and fun. It doesn't matter if it rains, such is the level of enjoyment. Mostly I've taken teenage family members, and even those who beforehand swore they hated Shakespeare have come away raving about it. The non-Shakespeare plays are excellent too, in many cases commissoned by The Globe. The acting is always first-class, and one has a feeling that there's real commitment from everyone: players, staff and audience. Quite rightly the Globe has become an item on tourist agendas, but it definitely doesn't feel touristy. Anyone from overseas will see one of the very finest things the UK can offer.

Shakespeare's Globe
Shakespeare's Globe Theatre really is a treat with a theatrical difference. Sitting in the rebuilt old fashion theatre is somehow magical and exciting. The old fashioned bands that accompany the plays with its old fashioned music makes the atmosphere even better. The theatre itself caters for a wide range of visitors and can be viewed by those on a budget - where you can stand by the stage and watch for five pounds (I did this last year for Othello). The acting is usually always first rate and likely to draw in some top names. It's also a cracking venue for comedy - as I saw the Comedy Store players there a while back. A superb day out whether you are watching a play, getting the tour or just visiting the gift shop.

Legendary
As a Literature Graduate, going to the Globe was incredible. The sense of history, knowing that one of the most famous writers in the world wrote all his works specifically for this stage, is unlike anything I have ever felt before. Yes, I was very VERY excited. We stood with our £5 tickets and saw a non Shakespeare production in the pouring rain- it was brilliant. There are seated tickets but the seats to the side of the stage have a restricted view, and if you are after comfort then back and seat cushions can be hired for an additional fee. Personally, I would definitely go for standing tickets as you are easily able to move and there is a fantastic atmosphere to be found in “the pitâ€, especially if the stage has been extended and the actors are close enough to actually splash water at you as they stomp past. If the skies do open there are cheap-ish plastic ponchos waiting to be bought in the shop and also the Theatre entrance, and although not exactly the height of fashion they work very well even in the heaviest of downpours. The early start of the evening showings means that all public transport is still running when it comes to going home, so there isn't a scramble for taxis once it finishes. Unfortunately, as we were there on a Sunday we were unable to go on the Theatre Tour in the afternoon as the matinee performances prevent the tour entering the Theatre itself, but it is something we will definitely do next time.

Theatre
A phenomenal venue. I went a few weeks ago, in the seats but didn't actually find them the comfiest so if I was to go again I'd definitely go in the £5 seats, though personally I wouldn't like it if it rained! A great atmosphere inside really helped by the round shaped building keeping the sound in. Staff were really helpful and friendly. You can go on a tour or just visit the shop if you don't fancy a performance. Had a drink in the bar before which was nice, especially outside if you are lucky enough to get a seat on one of the few tables.
