About
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) is where it all begins. Whether you are looking for motorcycle training from CBT to advanced rider training, or your first purchase of a moped to your dream motorcycle – we can help. Before you can begin motorcycling or commence formal training, you must hold at least a current and valid UK Provisional Motorcycle Licence. Our unique service is designed to make the experience of getting onto two wheels as easy and hassle free as possible. We can provide everything - from helping you choose the right motorbike, scooter or moped, to insurance, clothing, accessories and training. If you should require finance for the motorcycle of your choice, then we can provide that too. Training is provided via our own schools Get Bike Training and Girls Angels. From Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) to Direct Access Scheme (DAS). We can also help if you are returning to motorcycling with a Back to Biking course. If you are new to motorcycle / scooter riding, the guides in our Information section should answer most of your questions about how to get started and what has to be done. We are always looking to improve our service, so if there is anything we haven't covered in this site, please contact us with your suggestions! Amazing CBT with GETBIKE
Had an amazing day! The team were professional and welcoming from start to finish. Arrived a little late, but was warmly welcomed to the group and told the plan for the day. Everything was explained fully before getting out onto the bikes to reassure the younger /less experienced members of the group. During the morning we spent a few hours in the test centre practicing slow control and basic handling. Nigel had the patience of a saint and took the time to get everyone up to speed. The afternoon

Highly professional
The CBT was excellent. Highly professional (Maxine for the first sections and David for the final part road training), clear, critical where necessary, but also reinforcing things done correctly, which is encouraging and helps build confidence. I was delighted that no time was wasted. When things had been adequately covered, you moved on to the next stage. I had previously done the CBT with another company, and your training was far superior, more pleasant, more effective. I am very grateful!

CBT is Getbike
From the moment i walked into the door, i was greeted with a friendly face with a smile. I was directed to the appropiate room instantly and as soon as i walked in, was put at ease by the friendly nature of my instructor (terry). For someone who has never ridden a bike before and didnt know what to expect from the day, this was the best possible start i could have wished for. Right from the off on the pads i was also put at ease with Terry understanding my zero knowledge of never ridden before and was nice to hear that he had given me a bike that would reflect this. The whole day was a success, from the great lesson about the engineering of the bike and knowing how it works to going out on the road with the instructor. I was extremely happy with it all and will be recommending you to anyone who is either lookin for a lesson or lookin to kit themselves up with some bike gear. thank you so much for everything and im sure ill be seeing you again in the future to either purchase something or go one step further and get my full bike license.

CBT at Getbike was overall great!
Terry was a great instructor. He was very patient and passionate about his job - he clearly was concerned about our safety on the roads and future behaviour while riding. He was really helpful with advice. I do think however that the CBT comprises too much information for a one day course and to incorporate everyone´s varied experience. Overall, I was happy with the day and Terry´s help! Nolan.

Better and Safer Ride - Go Getbike
Booked my CBT with Get Bike and it lived up to my expectations. The training and instruction given wasn't just about to getting you through the CBT and taking your money, but felt like they were genuinely concerned with making me a better and safer biker. Friendly and practical instructors!

Fantastic Getbike
What a fantastic team, I've just got home after completing my CBT!. They took me from someone who'd never sat on a motorbike, a nervous wimp spouting apologies, to a confident road user in the space of 10 hours. I am so glad I did it. They taught us in groups of three, so you really have the one to one attention you need, which gives a lot of confidence and they don't mind how many times you make a mistake whilst your learning to control the bike. great experience when it all came together
"Motorcycling was totally new to me before GetBike & I was persuaded by my boyfriend who trained here recently & now enjoys commuting to work on his scooter. I was slightly nervous about it to start with but my instructor Bob was fantastic in all his explanations & demonstrations, giving everyone enough practice exercises. This really helped me gain enough confidence to go out on the road, which was a great experience when it all came together. I will definitely be getting a vespa for my commute

Amazing GetBike Experience
It was an amazing day! I was a complete beginner and had never been anywhere near a scooter before. My instructor was so patient and helpful which gave me the confidence to achieved what I achieved on the day. I felt completely safe the entire time and was given amazing instruction and guidance. Perfect Training
My day of training for my Mod 2 test was conducted by Tony and was very professional and useful. Tony structured the day in a very digestible order, and his instruction during the day was at the perfect level and very insightful - with the key areas I needed to work on being quickly identified. Tony also offered lots of additional advice about maintaining my bike, and was extremely helpful in answering various questions that I had. Following his training I felt entirely confident and prepared for my Mod 2 test, and I am sure that this training was crucial to my success.

CBT at Get Bike - Two Thumbs up!
Have just completed a CBT. The course was about 8 hours and very well organised. It was divided into classroom theory, on-site bike riding skills, followed by a 2 hour scooter ride on the roads with an instructor and two students. Toby, my instructor, was an excellent teacher - extremely knowledgable, professional, proficient, polished and with a sense of humour All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable learning experience. I would recommend the course to others.

Super Satisfied!
I just did my first Get Bike expierience by doing my CBT last friday and result is very good. I've found this place very friendly and professional. First booking online my training was very easy. I have found loads of information on their website which help me to chose the right thing. Training day was very nice as well I have enjoyed facilyties, bikes and the most important Instructor :) I want more so I'll definetly come back to do my full motorbike licence.

The course was really well structured and organize
We all had precise instructions on how the course will be taught. The exercises in the morning are very clear, and helpful and all the lessons are focused on Safety which is primordial Tony was my teacher during the day, he was very clear and precise regarding what he expected from us. He was patient and took the time to explain simply and clearly what he wanted us to do. He was ready to explain as many times as needed. Tony was focusing a lot on safety, and was always making sure that we paid attention to details. Another great day with GetBike team. Couple of years ago I did my CBT with Lenny. This time I have decided to go again for CBT, it was under Philippe's supervision. It was an absolute pleasure working with both of them. Both of them are very friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. Ability to support theory with different practical examples makes them great instructors. Lenny and Philippe are very good at it. CBT training was excellent. Instructor was claer, strict and provided some interesting technical insight into riding. Groupings of riders could have been better to make the instructors' workload easier. The best!
Talking about Complete Basic Training (CBT), you can get complete guidance w/ professional instructor in GETBIKE who just believe you to get understand that your safe while riding. As i was not much experience in driving i just get chance to be instruct by instructor Max who gave me complete knowledge about driving rules and driving skills that are most important to be followed. It was a great experience!
I recently done my CBT with Getbike and it was a great experience, it is a long day, but goes very quickly with everything you learn. My instructor on the day was Tony, he was funny and very informative, making sure we knew what we were doing before we went out onto the road. Brilliant time with getbike!
I had a brilliant time doing my training. I was pretty nervous to start with but the atmosphere was really encouraging. The advice on helmets, and road safety was really helpful so I felt safe doing the on road training. Maxine was my instructor and she was very clear and confident. Very impressed with the service
I was very impressed with the whole experience, everyone was very friendly and put us all at our ease. The instructor was Tony who was evidently very experienced, very confident in what he was teaching us. I felt completely confident when I was taken out on the roads with him behind me. Great Instructor Terry!
Completed CBT Course for the second time last friday. Had Terry as an instructor who was very knowledgable on all matters. The weather was bad all day but the course was enjoyable, Terry made me feel at ease all day, i have no hesitation in recommending Get Bike and Terry as the place to be for bike training. The only down side to the day on my journey home on my bike, i performed a perfect emergency stop in wet conditions, but the car behind me did not. My Scooter is now at the repair shop.

outstanding training really very informative and complete. It was easy to learn all the information because the way Maxine teach you is fabulous. she is a great trainer. Outstanding training
Although I was late due to a navigation error, Toby allowed me to participate in the CBT training. His instructions were very clear and his manner of dealing with both myself and the other rider were fantastic. I found the course to be both entertaining and educational. Toby's knowledge of the road and the CBT course were outstanding. He took the time to speak to each of the students to get to know them and their feelings towards riding on the road. Excellent - the trainer was extremely helpful and informative. The one-to-one session due to no other trainees registering for that session was particularly helpful as it meant I had more input from the trainer. The offer at Getbike is considerable affordable. My CBT was done with Terry, who is very good, friendly and man of knoledge in the world of bikes, as an instructor Terry told alot and rectified my every mistake on raod and after that now i feel its safe for me to ride on the bike on road. it was such a great experience with Terry and GetBike.

Great training!
I took my CBT as I wanted to move up to a 125cc after riding a 50cc for 8 or so years. The whole instruction from classroom to ride was excellently presented by Neil, and his friendly enthusiasm for both riding and the importance of safety was great. I learnt some of things I wasn't aware of or had maybe forgotten. He has also made me aware of a few bad habits I had picked up over the years and suggested how to correct them. I thought I was a safe rider but the if the day taught me one valuable thing it is that I can be even safer. The day was relaxed and would recommend GetBike to anyone thinking of starting out or progressing their skills.

To whom it may concern, I completed my CBT training session with Mr. James Payne. The session was thoroughly enjoyable, and the explanations were clear, and effective. Whilst the practical training was very well balanced, properly explained and enjoyable, the theory session was rather problematic because of the level of English speaking and comprehension of the other trainees on the course. The instructor showed great patience in explaining every detail of the theory session to the non-English speakers; a suggestion would be to allow the CBT only to owners of a EU/GB driving licence whilst implementing a theory test do be completed alongside the CBT training for other trainees from the international community. Hi I just wanted to say how fantastic the training was I had. I am trying to remember the name of the gentleman who took the course (Rob?). I did the CBT training – there were 4 of us, two who had before & two total novices. The training was fun & educational – I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending GetBike to anyone regardless of their experience level. The instructor made the riders think about what they were doing and why - it was a perfect mix of classroom / onsite / on-road training. The only criticism I would have of the whole day would be to fill the small gap before the on-road section of the course – perhaps have some videos to watch or watching people working on bikes for MOT's? CBT Experience
1.Website/telephone assistance pre-course/location All excellent, informative and professional. 2.Location/bikes/protective clothing/cost Very convenient location, very staisfactory bikes and protective gear provided and a very good value for the money. 3.Classroom work/back lot practice/road ride The classroom component is very easily understood and well presented through the video. The back lot practice is a good primer and refresher for basic skills. The road ride is well run and the radio contact works very well for instructing beforehand and correcting during and after necessary interventions. I appreciated the course not just because I needed to get my CBT, but also because it taught me to be a better rider (I do have experience riding a 125 scooter). 4. Instructor Of course the most important aspect, given that the rest was all so well done, is the instructor. Tony was excellent! I have recently completed a Basic Rider Course (a US CBT equivalent) in the state of Virginia and can therefore make a direct comparison. Tony is patient, communicates very well, imparts confidence but also is willing to constructively criticize to help the student improve and, more than anything, makes taking the CBT course not only instructive but also fun (even if it was raining and chilly!). Not only would I recommend Get Bike to anyone looking to get their CBT or other training but I would specifically suggest that they take the course with Tony. In fact, please let me know when the next opening is to do the training course for the two modules of the road test. I am interested in the direct access unrestricted AUTOMATIC only course and license. Thank you again and I hope to see you and Tony very soon to finish my training and get my full license.

CBT Training Day
My experience was excellent my instructor james was brilliant he was a great instructor not boring in any way and did teach me a lot of useful things that i will use in my future riding, i would like to thanks james for being such a great guy and for teaching me well.

Get bike
I recently attended the Compulsary Basic Training course with Phillipe, your French instructor. I was very gratified by the depth, detail and intensity of this training. Phillipe put a very high stake of the course on safety and I personally enjoyed to be trained by a very professional and experienced instructor, who encouraged all participants. Nevertheless it was still fun and very exciting (despite -45C...in the sun!). Despite having my full car driving licence for 12 years now, conducting without any accident so far, I sincerely do believe that this training is very important not only in terms of how to ride a bike but especially on road safety and how to behave in traffic. One small part, which I missed was the 'filtering part'. I believe this plays a significant role in motorcycle riding as this is one of the unique advantage of any bike rider towards cars, trucks and buses. However thanks again to Phillipe and seasons greetings.

Top training
I wanted to drop you a note to say how impressed I was with the Get Bike training team. Adrian and Lenny were particularly helpful and, without their patience (sorry Adrian!) I certainly wouldn't have passed both modules on my first attempt. You were also really helpful in getting my test dates so quickly. The whole set-up at Get Bike is really professional and surpasses the other outfits I had looked at. Thanks again – top training!

CBT Experience
I just passed my CBT on Sunday 6th Dec and would just like to say a huge Thank You! I came to my first session and couldn't even balance so Bob very kindly gave me a one-to-one session. I returned on Sunday and had Adrian as my instructor. Both instructors were extremely helpful and patient and for that reason my experience of biking so far has been great. I really enjoyed both of my sessions and will definately be recommeded Get Bike to my friends! :)

Feedback from CBT
Overall I found the whole experience incredibly well organised and professional and Phillipe to be an excellent instructor, friendly yet very informative, a fantastic teacher. I will always remember Phillipe and get bike throughout my career on two wheels. I will outline some highlights and two minor areas I can see for improvement, neither of which tainted the experience as it was an extremely enjoyable day. • Friendly staff • Well structured programme • Great starter bikes (what type were they?) • Good class size and mix • Small touches such as tea and coffee, good quality equipment, free lockers • I am new to the world of scooters and I would of liked some information about buying my first one. Being a combined training centre and showroom means you are in a unique position to try and sell bikes as well. There is a definite balance to be had between being informative and being aggressively sales orientated. • I would of like to have been told to bring a pack Lunch (I know this is obvious to most being a 10-7 training course but not me :) ) However I found the cafe recommended more than adequate. I hope you found this useful. If I progress to the next level I would definetely recommend Get bike to anyone.

Getbike review
I completed the CBT and I am over the moon. I really feel comfortable riding now. Your excellent patience and guidance helped me to learn at my own pace and achieve the CBT. Your trainers were very aware of my nervousness and allowed me to decide the next steps, allowing me to return for the second time at a reduced rate to finish the CBT. It was great fun and I will definitely be asking your advise next year about taking the test for a bigger bike. Thanks very much

CBT Training
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Philippe for the immense help and inspiration he provided on my CBT test, Friday 4th December. I had never ridden a scooter before and was a bit nervous to say the least. Philippe's calm assured manner helped dissipate any nerves and convert them into pure biking passion, I even surprised myself that I could actually ride a scooter. When I made the occasional error (well quite a few!) he was adept at turning it into a learning experience. I have been a Ski Instructor in my time and know a true professional when I see one. In retrospect I have no hesitation in recommending Philippe and 'GetBike' to any would be novice or long term Motorbike rider. Rest assured I shall be returning to 'Getbike' for all my future tutoring. Many thanks guys

CBT Training Day
I attended my CBT training on Monday 30th November, and despite the day starting out with miserable weather, it turned out to be a great day...(for me anyway) I have never before ridden a motorbike or scooter and was feeling quite terrified before the session started. When I arrived nice cup of tea and a chat made me feel warmer and better! From start to finish everything was explained and demonstrated really clearly - I'm a trainee teacher myself and know how hard this can be - especially to complete beginners. Looking at the mopeds first was really helpful and gives a good idea of how to look after your bikes and what to look out for when buying a bike. The day was long and pretty difficult for the trainer (Phillipe) as a couple of the guys didn't understand too much english, but Phillipe was fabulous and had great patience and his passion for getting people to ride safely was very evident throughout the day. We pulled through and I was really excited at having been out on the road and successfully reaching over 30mph!!! I am very pleased with the training and would now confidently, happily and safely scoot along the open road. I cannot wait to get my first little moped, be free of the dreaded bus, and I am looking forward to upgrading my training to a 'proper' bike soon. Thanks for all your help and good advice

Top notch service at Getbike
I found out about Get bike back in May of this year from a friend. I had got to the point where I was so frustrated with having to use public transport and had started to consider the idea of getting a scooter. I rung Louis and was told they had just started a new scheme in which for the price of my oyster I could jump straight on a brand new bike. The CBT course was a bit unknown to start with as I have not ridden a bike before. It was incredibly interesting and essential for me and by the end of the day out riding with the instructors, I was buzzing with excitement. It answered a number of safety worries for me showing me how to prepare for other vehicles on the road and thinking ahead. Even down to things like what to wear, not paying congestion charging and where to park. I had a number of questions answers which had made me worried and had stopped me being brave enough to change. I have now been on my scooter for a few months and am looking to take my theory for my full bike license next month. I must admit I struggled for the first few days travelling along the busy A40 to work, slowing learning to filter through traffic. It took me a month to really relax and feel totally confident on the road. I am now totally shocked at how much freedom a bike gives over public transport. Riding in the rain and changing weathers have not been a huge problem and I am glad at all the tips and bike gear I got with the deal. Knowing I can park my bike outside a shop without having to pay and finding an incredible number of motorbike parking bays in London; has meant I now travel in and out of central every day. Also having a back box on the bike means I can store both my jacket and helmet secure on the bike and go shopping. I am totally hooked on having a bike and certainly do not miss waiting for a train or bus in the cold or having someone squashed in my face each morning. I am so glad I made the decision and extremely grateful that I took a package deal over doing it by myself. I would recommend getting a bike or scooter to anyone that lives in London, as it will make your life so much easier and much more stress free. Passing the huge lines of cars each morning brings a smile to my face. Thanks for all your help

Great one-stop-bike-shop
I have used GetBike from the very start of my biking interests. From the CBT training to buying my actual bike and all the gear! GetBike was able to cater to all my needs and help me out with everything I needed to get out on the road biking and more. Having wanted to learn to ride for a number of years I finally decided to get into gear (excuse the pun!) and book my CBT. As I had absolutely no previous riding experience (nor do I know anyone who rides for any inside info/tips :( ) I decided to go for a reputable training centre as I have seen other training schools which do not offer all the gear, or even the bike on the day. As I was completely new to riding I wanted to make sure I was in good hands, hence Get Bike, and indeed I was . After a great CBT training day in the sunshine out riding an auto 50cc bike (I think it was) with a greatly entertaining instructor, I had decided I wanted to take it a little further and enquire about a geared-bike (to fuel my love of all things fast and exciting). I had a very good talk with one of the other instructors who informed me of the gear conversion they offered which could be done on any day I was free and could be a private lesson, what a great idea! Little did I know this would be my first day in my GetBike experience. From CBT Training, to Gear Conversion course, to buying my first bike, to buying all my highly fashionable (yet very safe) special order gear, I have been a regular at GetBike to ensure I have everything I need to be safe and confident on the roads. Now 4 months on, I am now looking into booking my test and moving up to a higher power bike (which no doubt GetBike's will source for me) as a start to many years of riding to come and relationship with GetBike's. CONCLUSION: All in all a great one-stop-bike-shop with exceptional staff who are more than willing to help with any of your biking needs! Highly recommended.
