firstly let me just say he fixed the vehicle but let me explain how it is. when I approached steve the owner mechanic my vehicle i did not know what was wrong with it but I explained to steve that i am full time carer to my disabled wife that has full blown MS and financialy things are not great. So steve said no worries leave it with me i'll spend 1 hour on this vehicle costing you £50 + vat, so I said fine and left it with him on friday and he said he will let me know the following week, so i called A1 service center the following week to be told by a mechanic that he was a way on a cruise for a couple of weeks. on the third week when steve had come back from his holiday i called and asked what was going on he said he will let me know later in the week he said its going to cost £1200 - £1500 to fix. I said know looks like i'll sell it for spares but he said the car is in the garage and is not driveable due to the fact he had it on the ramp due to inspecting the vehicle so I said so what is the cost for inspecting it steve said £150 + vat so I said ok is it drivable he said no I will have to put it back together sought the timming out and this should make it driveable but not perfect. so I said ok just so I can sell it. Steve said this will cost £350. I agreed and said go ahead. The following day I get a call from steve saying he put it back together and wow the vehicle is running perfectly had to get a part and its all sorted and running perfectly for £720 all in cash. So I paid cash and steve said any problems just let me know. On the same day I went to the garage I originally bought my vehicle from this self same garage steve had got the part from, the mechanic at this garage said that steve should have not charged me for this second hand part as it was given to me for nothing being that I was there original customer. The next day taking my wife to the hospital and had to stop off at the petrol station and when I pulled the leaver to open the petrol cap it would not open. I knew that this was something to do with a1 motor care because it was working fine before. So I phoned A1 to speak to steve but his wife the receptionist answered the phone and said he was busy so I explained the situation to her and was expecting her to say no problems bring the vehicle in to be looked at but instead she immediatly goes on the deefensive and said well thats got nothing to do with the job steve has done. At thjis point I was already annoyed from what I was told by the other mechanic and said to her fine I'll just speak to steve and hung up. When I arrived at the garage the wife was at the reception and I told her who I was and she said oh yes you hung up on me. And I said yes because I am annoyed and plus your a receptionist not a mechanic. she instantly went quiet and a mechanic arrived and apolgised for forgetting to fix it back. So he fixed the problem I said thanks and left and there was no sign of steve and as I drove off within 5min I gets a call on my mobile a message was left from steve saying. gus I didnt appreciate the way you spoke to my wife and you are no longer welcome in my garage. So to conclude what can I say, maybe he needed to raise the cash for his cruise and I was an easy target.

I have been using this garage for repairs and MOTs since 2001. They are very reliable, trustworthy and will do everything they can to help you out. My dad also used this garage and he wouldn't go anywhere else. Between us we've used this garage for over 15 years

I have used this garage for both annual servicing and MOT facilities for the past two years and can highly recommend them. I found the management and staff to be extremely professional, the services provided were excellent, prompt action and good contact were maintained throughout. I have referred a number of friends and colleagues who also report the same good experience.
