Had a family get together here last xmas .We all had the set Xmas menu and although in fairness we had to wait too long for all the courses it really was delicious. There is quite a good atmosphere with genuine olde worlde charm, not just your usual mock facade. All in all a good experience and one which Im sure will be repeated.

A great little pub and restaurant

The Black Boy is a pub with a huge amount of history, it was originally built in the 1500s. It's within walking distance from both the castle and the new developments in Caernarfon's dock. It's always comfortably busy at lunchtimes with a great varied menu with plenty of local seafood, and all the usual pub favourites such as curries, lasagne etc, all of which taste home made. I can heartily recommend the fish, chips and minted peas which is real comfort food for a winter's day, but light enough for a summer lunch. One thing that I love is that they have FRESH chips, which sets the pub apart from most of it's Caernarfon competitors. You can have a bar meal, or dine in the restaurant, which has a slightly more gastro menu. The beer is excellent, and all staff speak Welsh. It's somewhere I always visit when I'm in Caernarfon, for the food, the beer and the craic!

The Black Boy Inn is a listed building situated within the historic town walls of the Royal borough of Caernarfon, a market town and is a world heritage site. The Black Boy is a cracking pub and the food in the bar and restaurant is to be recommended. Depinatly the best place to have food in Caernarfon. Its has a few outdoor seating areas.Theres also a childrens play area not related to the pub about 4m across from the pub.The street it is on is really narrow and is only for walkers so the park is really close and child friendly. The food is really high quality and i have been told that the chips are a real speciality so have some of them while your visiting.Only problem is parking for the Black Boy.Not sure where you can park as the car park to the side of it is now private.Check it out if your in caernarfon 8/10
