Small and quiet village of Talysarn is roughly halfway between Caernarfon and Porthmadog. Village of Rhyd-Ddu at the foot of Snowdon is only 6 miles away. Another 4 miles and you'll reach the village of Beddgelert. Dinas Dinlle beach is a short drive away.

Ashcoast Holiday Cottage

Ashcoast Holiday Cottage is within walking distance of Dorothea lakes - Five very deep former slate quarry pits that have been filled up with water from underground springs. A well defined and easily accessible footpath, straight from the house, takes you around and between the lakes to the village of Nantlle. Perfect for walking dogs or just stretching your legs and enjoying the views.

For the more serious walkers, hikers and lovers of mountain pursuits, Talysarn is ideally situated, with easy reach of the Nantlle Ridge peaks: Mynydd Graig Goch (608m), Garnedd Goch (700m) and Craig Cwm Silyn (734m) the highest point of Nantlle Ridge. You can leave the car at the house and walk miles from the doorstep, exploring the mountains and lakes.

​Talysarn and Penygroes are small and quiet villages with a few takeaways and pubs. Those seeking bigger choice of pubs, cafés, restaurants and night life need to head towards Caernarfon 8 miles to the north or Criccieth and Porthmadog roughly 12 miles to the south.

Gas central heating, fully double glazed, with all the 'home away from home comforts': duvets, pillows, bed linen, towels, all provided. Baby travel cot/playpen & mattress can be provided on request.
