Newtonmore

The Monarch was originally built as a church manse. It was converted into an 8 bedroom hotel in 1970 and until recently has operated as such. Unique to the Monarch is its very own church ruin also built in 1851. The Monarch is ideally positioned in a quiet and peaceful location, yet is not remote or isolated. Just 7 miles from the A9 and 8 miles from the town of Newtonmore, which has a medium sized supermarket, restaurants and takeaway. A further 3 miles is another beautiful village, Kingussie, which also has several restaurants and shops. The Monarch is ideally situated for stalking, skiing, walking, mountain walking, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching and touring. Being central within the Scottish highlands makes it an ideal base for day trips. Within the house is all that one would expect from a former hotel. A fully functioning user-friendly commercial kitchen, large lounge with a huge double-sided open fire place, dining room plus your very own restaurant and bar.
