My husband and I love this part of the country but at short notice and the height of the tourist season it looked as if we would be out of luck. I came across the existence of these chalets while browsing the Internet and booked a weekend break. The weather was atrocious that weekend with gales and heavy rain but the break was a real find. The chalets comprise a really big room with a sitting area to the front and really comfortable beds to the rear. There is an en-suite bathroom with an over the bath shower ( a useful grab bar too for climbing into the bath). We were pleasantly surprised to find a bowl of fresh fruit, 2 miniature bottles of wine and pairs of slippers as well as the usual toiletries. The breaks here are on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfasts were both ample and delicious ( bread and rolls homemade). Many of the waiting staff seemed mid-European origin and I think the first words they learn must be " you're welcome" If booked in advance it is possible to dine here which we did on two of the three evenings ar a surprisingly modest cost. Best of all given the inclement weather outside we had sole use of the hotel's very large clean indoor swimming pool.
