DACE of our lives
DACE stands for Dept. of Adult Education and this is the bit of the university that runs classes in all sorts of subjects, either for those interested in Access courses so that they can go to university for the first time even if they don't have the formal qualifications, or just for those who want to take a class for fun. There is everything on offer from literature to foreign languages, to learning the guitar. The building itself is really well, it is in two halves and if you are in one and get the lift up, there is just no way to connect to the other half, you have to go back down and along before getting the other lift. Don't ask me why.

Great place to learn and visit
Glasgow University's main Gilbert Scott building Towers over the west end of Glasgow. While some people think the building is picturesque I personally find it a bit too dark and Gothic for my liking. But inside it's great to visit. It has inside the Huntarian Art Gallery and Museum that's well worth a look. Sadly they decided to remove Milly the Dinosaur (a life sized T-Rex statue that was only meant to be temporary but became much loved and protested about when they removed it) that stood outside near the main entrance for many years.The campus is a mix of great old buildings standing next to (mostly ugly) new buildings. The Boyd Orr building is a disgrace to architecture yet it stands just across the road from the Botanic building which was much worried over when it caught fire a few years ago and only the façade could be rescued.Also on campus is the Macintosh House with its strange door several feet off the ground because of the way the surrounding area has been reshaped.The worst part of the Glasgow University campus is the main road that cuts it in two. Without that it would be a quiet and quite enclosed centre of learning/

University Of Glasgow
Glasgows largest and most well known Universty. I have attended for two years and have nothing bad to say. It is a huge University and the courses really do span just about everything you could imagine. The library is an incredible resource and I feel privileged to be able to access and use it on a daily basis. The great location also means you are not far from a pub or the city centre should you need to go in and get anything. I have enjoyed my time at this university and look forward to my remaining years, I would recommend anyone looking to study further to go here.

Oldest ... and best ?
Glasgow longest established university dates back to the 15ht century, but the main campus in the West End was built in the late 19th century, and was one of Britain's largest engineering projects at the time. The main campus has since been expanded, mainly during the sixties, where the buildings erected were functional but not very attractive. For the visitor the University operates several museums as well as a fine collection of artworks. Entrance to most of these collections is free.

Glasgow Uni...
Hailing from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, I can do no more but look with envy at those students from Glasgow University. The buildings themselves are astounding, a marvellous archaterctural achievement and a wonderful place to study. Most of the ground is open to the public - although I must warn you that once in, and gates are locked, it is very difficult to find a way out!Known best for its education in arts, english and more 'arty' subjects than Strathclyde's bent on engineering, it is surrounded by wonderful parks, student pubs and the rest of the bounty the West enf of Glasgow has to offer. Fantastic place to study, highly recommended!
