We are a fully licenced plumbing and central heating company that operate within Glasgow and the surrounding area. We specialise in boiler repairs and heating installations. We can give you expert opinion and advice on how to get the best efficiency from your current system or honest advice on new systems. Quality materials and workmanship are used at all times.

Central Heating Systems

At SOS plumbing and heating, we will be more than glad to advise you on what system and what type of boiler best suits your needs, however if you are interested in doing a bit of research yourself here are some considerations to think about.

There are 3 different types of high-efficiency condensing boiler used in central heating systems: Combi, Regular and System. (see below)

Each type delivers all the benefits of high-efficiency technology, but which one you choose will depend on several factors, including your property, your lifestyle we will happy offer you advice on what system is best for your home. Here are some general considerations:

Boilers

The choice of boiler manufacturer is very important, at SOS Plumbing and Heating we recommend only the highest quality products.

Typically we would recommend the Worcester Bosch Greenstar, the Vokera compact He, or a boiler from the Viessmann Range. However if you have a specific boiler in mind we are able to install any boiler of your choice.

The reason we have chosen to fit the Viessmann, Worcester Bosch and Vokera boilers is that they are of the highest quality and through many years of experience we have found that these boilers have a long life span with the fewest breakdowns. Additionally, these boiler ranges offer a generous manufacturer's guarantee.

Gas Safety Cerificates

We can provide landlords gas safety certificates (cp12) for any landlords renting their properties. This is an annual inspection legally required for any rented properties that contain gas appliances. Our certificates are provided electronically which is perfect for anyone living outside of Glasgow that needs the information straight away. Payments can be settled electronically too, either online or over the phone.

Servicing and Repair

At SOS Plumbing and Heating we offer boiler servicing and repairs for all of the major brands. We have an in depth knowledge of all types of gas appliances. Unfortunately the number of gas appliances in circulation means that it is impossible to carry spares for all of them. We do have an official spares dealer in Glasgow for all of the major brands, this ensures we can access most of the common parts in stock. Our aim is to fix your boiler on the first visit, but should that not be possible and a second visit is required we will aim to return on the same day or the following day at the latest.

Green Deal Approved Installers

As Green Deal Approved installers we can provide customers with peace of mind in knowing that all our engineers are fully qualified to carry out the job to the correct standards. All of our equipment is checked and calibrated as per regulations and insurances in place.

We are qualified to carry out Green Deal installations for any customers who require this service.

At this time the Energy Savings Trust Scotland is giving cash back to any customers who are looking to improve the efficiency of the homes.
