Restaurant - Greek in Glasgow

This is my favourite restaurant, bar none. It has been a favourite of Southsiders since the 70's and the decor remains unchanged. It has 7 little booths where you can expect your legs to brush against your companions, it has pictures of sandy Cypriot beaches on the wall beside trellises with grapes and vines. It is opened from Thursday to Sunday and booking is advisable. This is a family run business and you will be greeted by the daughter of the family who will do her utmost to ensure you are well looked after and can guarantee you will be well fed!Serving large hearty and authentic home style greek cooking, you will not be hungry for days. A must try is the dips, humus, tzatziki and taramosalata are all fantastic. The mezze starter lets you try a little bit of several dishes. There is a large choice of main courses with everything from kebabs to moussaka and a huge vegetarian selection. A personal favourite is the Tava, which is a succulent lamb stew, slow cooked with herbs and spices. All in all a really fantastic and relaxed meal is guaranteed. Hot off the press is the news that the Greek Golden Kebab will be opening a larger place just across the road from their current site, this should be ready by the end of 2009....I can't wait.
