Carpet Repairs

Have you ever noticed the way a stain or burn on an otherwise clean carpet draws your eye? These marks can be distracting and especially obvious on a light-coloured carpet. Luckily, we have a way to fix this for you. We can come out and replace the damaged area with spare carpet and some simple tools. We can also offer heat seaming and similar repairs. If you've damaged your carpet by staining it or burning it with a cigarette or iron for example, get in touch for a hassle free and simple way to bring your carpet back to tip-top condition.

Heat Seaming

We were contacted by the Lodge on the Loch at Luss to come and have a look at some damaged carpets in their conference rooms. As the rooms were so large, the carpets had joins in them. The hotel used steam cleaners to clean the carpets which had resulted in the adhesive in the joins deteriorating to the point that it was becoming a trip hazard. We visited the hotel and carried out a free survey and recommended the use of heat seaming which is a specially made tape for joining carpets. This involves placing the tape underneath the join and using a specially shaped iron to transfer the heat through the carpet, which melts the glue on the tape and seals the join. This is the best way of fixing such a problem. We did some 70m of carpet joins and the hotel were delighted with the result. This led to them becoming a highly valued customer and we have gone on to service all their flooring needs in their hotels.
