Balbirs is an amazing Indian Restaurant. It is a little strange in that there aren't any menus, you are asked what sort of things you like and then they make dishes for you individually. These were fantastic, a superior quality to any that I have tried elsewhere. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, the only reason it is not a 5 star review is that it is a bit pricier - but a great place for a special night out. They also have another restaurant off the M77 motorway, which does takeaway. That does have a menu but the food is just as good!

We have been going to Balbir's for a while now and have never been disappointed. The food is always great, service speedy and the staff are really helpful and pleasant. It's touted as a healthy eating option and we initially went because they don't use ghee (my partner has a lactose intolerance). They use minimal oil for cooking, so gone are the days of curries with oil slicks on top!For a starter, the tandoori salmon is delicious and the bhel puri is really nice if you want something a bit different. Their saag is great and for something a bit spicier, the Xacuti (a Goan speciality) is awesome. The restaurant is massive - great for big groups - and has always been busy when we've been in. They recommend you book in advance if you want to go on Friday/Saturday night. The only minor flaw is that it's so big that I feel it lacks cosiness. They also do take away and the portions are massive - I think they are bigger than you get in the restaurant.
