this is the only credible place to see live bands every night in Edinburgh - open til 3am, had many a memorable night here. Always worth a visit whenever I'm in the burgh.

Was in here for the first time to see an old mate playing in a band. The ambience was good, the male bar staff were a bit scary looking, and the drinks were outrageously priced, even by central Edinburgh standards.Small bottle of Stella,330ml,£3:30,that's 1p/ml.Needless to say I only had one as I wasn't drinking. In their defence, apparently before 8:00,the drinks are half price, but it was after 8:00 when I got there. If you like live music in a unique old town location, binkies will do it for you,but be in before 8:00, or get your drink elsewhere.

A great place to have a drink and listen to some live bands. it is always quite lively in Binkies and some of the bands they have playing are really good. I always enjoy a visit to here whenever I can, and always have a great time. The staff are usually friendly and you never have to stand at the bar for long before getting served. Drinks are a bit expensive. And sometimes it gets a bit too busy that you can hardly move, but it always has a great atmosphere and a very relaxing place to have a drink.

I have been here quite a lot and used to go a lot with my friends when I was younger. They have live music on a lot, which is good fun and the music is usually really good, the thing is it is far too loud, there is not a chance of having any sort of conversation in there, even shouting at the top of your voice you can barely be heard. The drinks are quite expensive as well. It would be a good place to just sit quietly and listen to some music but not much good if you want to go out and be social. The volume of the music ruins it a lot because otherwise it would be fine.
