• Urban dance classes & parties for all ages

Step It Up Dance was formed with the goal of working with children and young people to increase their enjoyment of dance and exercise, increase their confidence and simply to create great fun dance classes they will want to return to week after week.
Step It Up Dance offers dance classes and parties in Breakdance, Street Dance, Hip Hop and Cheerleading in and around Edinburgh. All of these dance styles offer an excellent way to keep fit as well as helping to build confidence and boost happiness. Our classes are non-competitive and teach skills in an environment that promotes respect for all.
At Step It Up Dance we encourage individuality and freedom of expression and work hard to develop children’s skills on a personalised level, according to their age and aptitude.
Our aim is to ensure that all students enjoy learning to dance and leave with healthy, happy bodies and minds.


Classes


Family Hip Hop (age 18m-5)

For mini groovers aged 18m-3 and their parents, these Saturday morning sessions will get your weekend off to a flying start! Classes promote your child’s enjoyment of music, movement and basic hip hop dancing within a safe and encouraging environment. Most importantly these classes are welcoming and offer you and your child the chance to enjoy this creative form of dance together with loads of fun, laughs and praise along the way!

Siblings welcome, adults free.
Saturdays 11am @ Calton Centre, 121 Montgomery Street, Edinburgh EH7 5EP.
8-week block £48 (£6 per class, payable per block, can join part-way through block).

Hip Hop Juniors (age 3-5)

For junior hipsters age 3-5, these classes explore the rhythm, movement and creativity involved in hip hop dancing. Each class involves exercises designed to promote body awareness and build confidence, along with a basic routine that your little one will take pride in performing! There will also be the option to perform in our Christmas Show to be held on Saturday 14th December 2013.

Mondays 1pm @ Calton Centre, 121 Montgomery Street, Edinburgh EH7 5EP.
8-week block £44 (£5.50 per class, payable per block, can join part-way through block).

Term dates:
Monday 19th September – Monday 7th October inclusive.

Monday 21st October – Monday 9th December inclusive.

Hip Hop Academy Class Description

Hip Hop is an excellent way to keep fit as well as helping to build confidence & boost happiness. Our classes are non-competitive and teach new dance moves and routines in an environment that promotes respect for all.

Our classes always put the emphasis on FUN! We use modern teaching methods to help kids progress their Hip Hop dancing in a welcoming and nurturing environment.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring along a bottle of water to class.

This class is aimed at primary school kids aged 5+.

Breakdance Academy Class Description

Breakdancing is an excellent way to keep fit as well as helping to build confidence & boost happiness. Our classes are non-competitive and teach new skills in an environment that promotes respect for all.

Our Breakdance teachers use modern teaching methods to help kids progress their breakdancing, body popping, locking, flips & really cool tricks.

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring along a bottle of water to class.

This class is aimed at primary school kids aged 5+.
