About Us

We are a purely private dental practice at 47 Dublin Street Edinburgh. The practice was established in the mid 1980's. As such the practice is one of the longest established purely private practices in Edinburgh. The current owner Christopher Sale took over in 2010. In July 1995 the practice was featured in an issue of Harpers and Queen having the description " The 200-year old premises a ground floor flat in an elegant Georgian tenement has a personal feel with a library-cum-waiting room a roaring fire and two well-behaved coated retrievers". Our ethos at the practice is that teeth should be saved and we focus our treatments around prevention.

Your Dental Examination

The dental examination includes a thorough physical evaluation of teeth, gums and internal mouth. Further to this we shall be checking the external head and neck and evaluating your jaw joints. For a thorough screening, we like to view specific radiographs (these can be taken anew if they are not available or out of date) and review of your dental history. If treatment is needed following your examination, we shall look to provide a written report and treatment plan on the day or soon after depending on its complexity. Regular dental examinations are one of the most important aspects of your dental care enabling us to optimize the maintenance of your dental health and reduce the need for more extensive dental treatment. Regular and thorough examinations allow us to spot any problems in the early stages and with the increasing concern about oral cancer an integral part of the examination is to look for abnormalities in all the structures of the mouth and face.

Botox

Wrinkle relaxing injections for Frown lines and Crows feet. Botox is a purified protein produced by Clostridium Botulinum bacteria which induces long term relaxation of contracted muscles. It was originally used to treat eye spasms and central nervous system disorders. Over time our muscle activity repeatedly creases the skin, gradually wearing away collagen below the surface and forming indented wrinkles. Botox relaxes these muscles, preventing the creasing thereby smoothing out lines. Restylane replaces the collagen lost through these processes.
