As I'm still waiting for my refund, I thought I'd repost my review. Here goes...I was holidaying in Edinburgh from Australia and I commissioned the owner, Chris Ness to make me a ring, paid him 50% deposit with the promise that the ring would be ready to ship to me in 6-8 weeks. Ness is a charlatan of the highest order! Dozens of emails and broken promises, after 8 months, he finally agreed to refund my 50% deposit because he couldn't make the ring to the agreed specification. He sighted severe cash flow issues for no refund turning up on the agreed time and then it was radio silence. Since then, he won't return emails or pick up the phone. Almost 12 months to the day the reality is, I'm never going to get my deposit back. Chris Ness is nothing more than a petty criminal. Chris, a message to you, I'm planning another holiday to Scotland and Ireland shorty, and I will be paying you a visit to collect my refund. Additionally Chris, a local Edinburgh Woman reached out to me and she shared her dreadful experience dealing with you (she brought in her Mother's ear rings for repair and after the promise of a repair in a week, many weeks past an it was only the threat of involving the Police, did you return the ear rings unrepaired) and she has kindly offered to work with me and the Small Claims Court to ensure you repay my 50% refund. As I see it, you have 2 options, 1, honor your written commitment to refund my 50% deposit or you will be hearing from the Small Claims Court. I'll give you 1 week and if I do get my money back, option 2 will most certainly happen.

The diamond in my engagement ring got slightly loose, so I went to Christopher Ness to have it fixed. The only reason why I picked the place was that I did not want to have it sent away and he said he would do it on site. That was my biggest mistake. After he tightened it up, it was not until two weeks later that it got loose again. When I went back I was told, after his failed attempts to fix it second time round, that my setting was too weak for the size of the stone and I should consider changing it. Unable to bear seeing my ring being fiddled with in his incapable hands any longer I left disappointed with the diamond not only still loose but also with one or two claws slightly off. I have now had my ring properly fixed at a professional jewellery salon and was given one year guatantee, something that Christopher's service does not provide for, plus I learned he lied to me as the setting did not require changing. I can only say Christopher Ness means lack of expertise, low standard and by far very poor customer service - he refused to give me back the money that he charged me for his useless work and 'goodbye' was his response to my complaint. Please avoid this place.
