Roma's is located in Newtownards town centre. This two storey Georgian-fronted building opened in the early 1900s, but was extensively rebuilt and refurbished in 1993. It features a reconstructed downstairs lounge bar and upstairs à la carte restaurant, with natural local stone walls and an art deco theme. The menu boasts an excellent choice of traditional and European dishes.
Tried this restaurant for lunch recently, service was very good, main course was average, desert was rather good, would go back and try it again

Romas have recently refurbished the eating area & i have to say this is now very nice & quite modern looking. The food on the other hand is a bit different! I went in a party of six & it seemed that all the food we ordered was very bland, swimming in grease & similar to what i would cook in my own kitchen (and i am not a great cook)! The quality of food was bad compared to the expensive price we paid for it! Most of the food we ordered was left uneaten as it tasted so bad & the mushrooms we ordered for a starter was practically just a bowl full of grease! Very disappointed with Romas as the food used to be nice. The staff are very rude when you do have a complaint & are only interested in getting as much money out of you as possible! A very unpleasant experience, bad food, unfriendly staff & service would make this a place i would never return to!
