To bleach or not to bleach?

Generally, tooth whitening is successful in at over 90% of patients. Darker coloured teeth more respond to whitening. Tetracycline or fluorosis is less responding to tooth whitening.

The whitener will not work on crowns, porcelain veneers or white filling.

Bleaching can last anywhere from one to five years depending on your eating, drinking or smoking habits.

Whether or not you decide to whiten your teeth, keep in mind that good daily oral health habits like brushing and flossing and regular check-ups and cleanings go far in keeping your smile bright and healthy.

Veneers help to provide a natural tooth appearance. They don't need extensive prior shaping that crowns do

The difference between a crown and veneer is that the veneer is placed only on the front of a tooth, whereas a crown is placed over the entire tooth. It needs preparation of only the front part of the tooth. However, the crowns might be more indicated by your dentist to get more protection and strength then the veneers are not the best option due to clinical reasons.
