VERY NOISY!
The place was pretty big and is one of two restaurants owned by the same organisation (Le Rendevous being the other. Why the French name for a Chinese restaurant? puzzled of Swindon). It was also very busy and very very noisy, great for a group outing, not so good for an intimate dinner for two.We went for the all-you-can-eat option. Rather than the more typical buffet this allows you to keep ordering from the menu as long as you eat what you've already ordered. Curiously it states "no sharing" on the menu though how they ever enforce this I don't know: it didn't stop the two of us digging in to a bit of everything we ordered.We opted for some a "thai" style platter of mixed starters consisting of some tail-on jumbo prawns in batter, chicken saté, mini spring rolls, ribs and thai fish cakes. These were all very nice. Then on to the crispy duck, again good.Disappointed with the main courses of thai green curry, jumbo prawns with baby sweetcorn and chicken. The meat had that processed, rubbery texture that I associate with a cheap take away. Am I doomed never to find fresh meat being prepared in a Chinese restaurant?The service was friendly and very attentive. I never had to refill my own glass and extra cucumber, etc. was offered as I ploughed through the crispy duck.I'll keep it in mind if I ever go for a big night out in town, but I'll be looking elsewhere for the next night out with my missus.

Rendezvous
We decided to go for the all you can eat menu & were extremely pleased we did. Being there for two hours we were not sure what the service would be like. We were pleased to see that as soon as we were finished we were able to order our next dish & it came out quickly. We were pleased with the clean, friendly environment and would certainly recommend this establishment. I have friends who also go here and always enjoy it. Although the all you can menu on a weekend is few pounds more expensive it's still going here. The only thing I would say is a disappointment is that this place has no car parking. I have to park in a pay display about a hundred metres away.

Fantastic food, great place
I have been to Swindon Rendezvous over 8 times now. We always go for the buffet option which is cooked to order. There are plenty of prawn, beef, chicken and pork dishes to choose from. All is served within a reasonable time and the staff are pleasant. The food is best i've had at any buffet restaurant- their thai curries are especially nice. I would definetly recommend Swindon Rendezvous for a good night out :)
