St Philip’s has been operating a preschool from the church hall for over 30 years serving the local community of Stratton although we do welcome children and their families from all areas. We are registered with OFSTED and we are a member of the Preschool Learning Alliance (PLA). We operate from one room which enables staff to observe and interact with all children, and with five full time members of staff, children not only benefit from a high staff: child ratio but develop a rapport and trust in all the staff. We have access to outside so the children can have fun and learn from a secure environment with experienced staff on hand close by to enhance their learning. We have close links with our feeder schools Beechcroft Infants School located conveniently across the road and we also have an established link with St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School. This enables us to provide the children with a smooth transition to ‘big’ school. Without the help and support of St Philip’s church we would not be able to offer these opportunities so we would like to thank St Philip’s church for providing us with the facilities.
