This is a Careless Home
Following a fall at home my late mother was places in this Home for merely sixteen days in order to be reassed . Mum was on a two weeks course of antibiotics for a chest infection. This finished on the 13 Dec and the following day a note was left for the Consultant to see as 'patient deteriorating' No chest examination was carried out as I am told, 'she looked well'. Before b'fast the following day it is recorded in mum's notes that she was 'VERY CHESTY' yet no help was called for twenty four hours. The G.P. visited at 11.30, diagnosis pneumonia and hospital admission was arranged. Staff in the Home were under instructios from the Hospital Matron that mum must have G.P. cover and should she continue to deterorate then staff must call 999. The patient did continue to deteriorate however, staff took no action. Vital Observations were takenat 12.30 yet over the next NINE HOURS none were taken or recorded. These were essential to ascertain that the patient remained stable whilst awaiting admission to Acute Care Once I raised my complaint I was denied my repeated requests to speak with staff in whose care mum was entrusted. Those requests have always been denied. On arrival at hospital the Consultant writes the patien was Severly unwell with sever sepsis and sever pneumonia. She was semi-conscious, dehydrated and in respiratory distress. Sadly mum died less than twelve hours after admission. My Complaint is still ongoing.

LOVELY PLACE WITH CARING STAFF
My mum is currently a resident at Pennington Court, she is only staying short term whilst she receives intensive physio. The place is very nicely decorated (just been finished) with lots of facilities available. The staff are wonderful, they cannot do enough for you and I really appreciate and admire all the work they do with the short and long term people who reside here. They all deserve a medal!! My mum will be gutted to leave and go back to having to make her own meals!!!
