Tic Toc Nursery is an independent family run business. Both Directors (Maureen Wedgewood and Claire Spencer) have an NHS background and have worked as health visitors in Coventry. The management team also includes a manager and deputy.

Tic Toc at Henley Road, Coventry, opened in 2004 and originally opened on one site. Following the success of the nursery a second setting, Tic Toc 2 also at Henley Green, Coventry, was opened in October 2009.


At Tic Toc not only do we care for your child's daily needs but we are able to provide additional support regarding health, nutritional advice, behaviour, sleep management, immunisations and general child development advice at any time while your child is at nursery. You as parents/carers have the opportunity of their baby being weighed on request which can be recorded in their ‘parent held record book.


The setting at Tic Toc 1 is for our children who are under the age of three. This site has had extensive refurbishment in 2010 which includes improvements to the inside of the building and new garden facilities. Tic Toc 2 is for our pre-school children which has also undergone extensive improvement and an extended purpose built Ali-Baba play area. Both play-areas have canopy cover to protect against all weathers.

All staff work alongside the parents who are recognised as the child's primary educators and are respected and welcomed to offer any input to aid transition and development for your child whilst they are in our care. We offer many opportunities to involve parents as partners ranging from daily feedback to parents evenings.

About us

Our opening hours are 8.00 am to 5.30 pm; we are able to offer earlier and later times at a small additional cost. Tic Toc is open 51 weeks a year (only closing for the Christmas period and bank holidays).We accept children from six weeks of age, from one session a week to full time care all year round. The morning session includes a healthy snack and a main meal and dessert. The afternoon session includes an afternoon tea. All meals are freshly prepared on site by our qualified cooks.

Our Nursery operates on a daily or sessional basis. Sessions run from 8.00am to 12.30pm and 1.00pm to 5.30pm, a full day is 8.00am – 5.30pm. If you require care outside our core hours or require shortened sessions please ask for details.
Security is seen as a high priority at both settings, access is by the main doors only which is secured throughout the day. Nominated staffs greet parents into the nursery and parents are not encouraged to open the door to other parents. Measures are in place throughout; from finger protectors on doors, policies on nominated people collecting children and up to date external CCTV. Safety is reinforced at every team meeting.

Quality childcare

A Tic Toc Staff member is a person not only qualified in childcare, but someone who is able to offer children and parents that little something extra. We employ staff with a wide range of experience. We believe all staff should be supported and have opportunity to develop their career. We offer external and in-house training opportunities to all of our staff in many different areas. Not only do the staff have relevant childcare awards ranging from NVQ2 to the Early Years Professional Status but we have a strong management team who lead on the health, welfare and development of children in our care, ensuring we adhere to the Every Child Matters Agenda, the EYFS, OFSTED regulations and any other aspects of the day to day running of the nursery.
