hadnt been in a while , used to be good , obviously been taken over by someone new and gone downhill big time Fish was presented in half cooked thick batter, inedible

Had fish and chips here on Friday night. Had listened to the Radio 4 series on F&C shops all week and was hungry for decent F&C. Put simply they gave me the best fish and chips I have probably ever had since I can't remember when (decades probably). A piece of freshly cooked cod about 14 inches by 4 inches. Crispy batter with superb pearly white flesh which just fell into gorgeous flakes. Excellent chips. Piping hot and fresh. I am a big guy but I could not actually finish it all. It broke my heart to leave a (tiny) portion of it. My partner left a piece that would have been a meal in itself. Lovely friendly lady serving. She even found me a bottle of coke with my name on it rather than my partners ex! Superb value at £12 for two great meals. Restored my faith in chippies. I can only score them 5* all round. ( The queue of customers on Saturday evening would probably agree).
