speedy-marquee Review

We run an established stainless steel exhaust centre and part of our growth was to run trade shows and needed a Marquee with our logo on it, having spoken to a number of companies I was taken in by the sweet talking owner called Jim from www.speedy-marquee.com who constantly praised himself that he has been in the marquee business for 8 years and knew everything about his products, Jim tuned out to be the worst devious person I have had to deal with. I wanted a 6 X 4 meter marquee with a counter, over a matter of weeks and many conversations the time was right to place my order, based on the proof sent to me by Jim (see image), he had confirmed and made it very clear that the marquee was in stock and the printing will take approx. 2 weeks, on that basis I paid for the goods by bank transfer. Part of my order was a quick set up 3 meter counter, which I was advised will fit nicely on one side and will fit between the pillars, as there were 6, which left an opening of 3 meters on the other side, it all seemed great and I was looking forward to my order. I received a call from Jim saying he had made a mistake and the counter I ordered will not secure properly because he thought the 6 meter marquee had 6 legs but it only had 4 legs, this was shocking for a person who boasts he knows everything about his marquees. The marquee finally arrived approx. 1 month late; I even cancelled booked events due to his lies. When it arrived we erected the marquee and realised it was a very poor quality structure and sagged in the middle, but the worst thing was I was sent proof, of what my printed marquee would look like when it arrived it had a massive print on the front panel advertising their company, you can see what I mean in the images, when I complained he simply said he was NOT going to send me a replacement roof panel without the printed sticker but can send some paint remover. He told me to send the marquee back at my expense and he will have a go at removing the printed label, I was not happy to have a section discoloured so I refused, I did ask him to pay for shipping and he immediately refused and his attitude changed. So much for a person who boasted he knew everything about marquees, not to know that the size I ordered had 4 not 6 legs. I warn all persons looking to buy from Jim from Speedy Marquees. Don’t get sucked in as when things go wrong he will not take responsibility and you may end up with a marquee advertising his or his supplier’s company and not yours.
