I am writing to inform the Head Office manager of The Claire Accessories Ltd, about a customer seen at The Claire Accessories Outlet, St. Anns Mall, Harrow, London, on Thursday 14 April 2022, between 11.00-12.00am. He is described as afro-caribbean/african origin, medium quite slim built, medium length hair, wore a jacket/casual clothing and shoes, possibly aged between 18-25 years, seen seated at the ear piercing section, creating a rude remark. I, assume, he entered The Primark Store, at the mall, to cause trouble to a non-aquaintance. This person is a bad trouble maker. My email address is used for acknowledgment only. I took my daughter to the Ilford branch on the 27th August to have her ears pierced, when we arrived in the morning there was only one assistant we waited 10 minutes while she had a chat to a customer and then came over to us she pierced her ears but when we got home and looked they were not level one was higher than the other. There was a customer waiting at the till all this time also another waiting for an ear piercing. when we left there was a lot waiting to pay. I asked where the other staff were and was told she was by herself all day. No wonder she made a mistake on my daughters ear piercing. I think the shop was in quiet a state people walking out.

Appalling ear piercing and customer service

After having an helix ear piercing 4 months ago, it was clear that the piercing had not been done correctly and was at an angle. They advised me to remove after 3 months. However I started to get a pain in my ear as I could not sleep at night with the angle being so acute and sticking out of the top of my ear lobe. There was a huge bump on the back so I thought I would visit Claires and as for advice and to see if they could help put a new earring in. The Ast Manager at the Merry Hill branch was so rude and unhelpful. Firstly there were none to be seen. When she appeared and I spoke to her she simply said, we cannot touch your ear after piercing, just go to a doctor. I said I was worried about the positioning and she just replied 'sorry'. I was bemused and went to Superdrug for help. 3 helpful ladies came to see me and said the piercing had been done incorrectly and was also infected. They said that I should not put the earring back in as the swelling since taking out the stud less than 24 hours before had now covered the hole at the back of my ear. I explained that Claire's had refused to look and they also felt this was unreasonable to check a piercing that they had done, particularly when it had been done badly and was now infected. They cleaned the piercing and advised me to return to Claires. I popped back into the store and spoke to the lady again. She simply refused to check and repeated that I should just see a doctor and get some cream. She would not give me her name. I asked for the contact details for Claires and she told me to 'sort myself out' and make my own way around the internet if I wished to complain. Looking at the reviews on this site, i wish that I had not trusted Claire's with this ear piercing and I require a refund. Ihave to wait 12 months to have my ear pierced again, properly and professionally. I certainly would not bring a child to the store for piercings. I am not not upset by the callous and poor way in which you assistant manager dealt with me but also the company's stance on checking piercings. I have taken photo's of the piercing and I am expecting to be contacted further about this matter

Payment taken quickly. No delivery. Customer services don't answer phones. 3 emails, 3 phones..still not received anything. To enable good service or rectify something that has gone wrong a customer needs to be able to contact a business. I am still waiting!

My daughter took my grandaughter to Claire's in Bath last week to spend some of her birthday money. The first issue was that the assistant wore an ill-fitting face mask and was constantly pulling it up during their conversation! As if that wasn't enough they wanted £50 to pierce my granddaughter's ears . That's a 100% increase from when my grandson had his ear pierced lin the same shop ast year. Never again will my family support this business.

Terrible ear piercing experience

My 7 year old niece got her ears pierced at one of your stores 3 days ago. We were surprised that the earrings cost £40 but one of your sales advisors told us that these particular studs were the best for the healing process. Only 3 days later both of the gems have fallen out. I am extremely disappointed and have a very upset little girl. I would like to know what can be done about this as I know the earrings cannot be taken out for at least 3 weeks. I don’t think a simple replacement after 3 weeks is good enough because my niece now has to wear gem-less earrings for 3- 6 weeks. Please could you offer some advice.

Cannot get through via phone so have sent an email but had to search and search online for one. Customer service was appalling and from a manager too in the Metrocentre Gateshead store. Absolutely disgusting the way I was spoken to and treated with my 9 year old daughter present but reading past reviews they do this regularly. We left and had her ears pierced in Superdrug minutes from Claire’s and so much cheaper and the customer service in Superdrug was amazing the staff made my daughter feel so at ease I cannot praise them enough. I will not be letting it go the way customers are spoken to or treated by staff who are paid to be in a customer service profession especially dealing with small children on a daily basis. When asked how to complain I was given a piece of paper with 2 names on hers and other girl serving the 2nd girl had not spoken out of term, was polite and seemed genuinely concerned for my daughter’s wellbeing so I did not need her name and details. The manager of this store obviously feels she can speak to people however she feel like she was rude, condescending and unprofessional and it’s unacceptable I won’t be spending any more money here out of principle.

They lost my birth certificate

When I applied for the job I was young and didn't realise I had to send over a copy of my birth certificate instead of the real one; and so when I was told about my error and asked for it back they gave me excuses about it's whereabouts and claimed that they lost it or never even received it when they definitely as it was the only form of identification I had at the time. It's been years and the head office haven't answered any calls and keep putting me on hold.

Disgusting customer service and items missing from order

I ordered a click and collect order from store totalling 5 items and 2 items were missing when I got home. Tried ringing customer service number- at 20 minutes each call and it cuts you off to a voicemail (after a beep) which I realised after my 3rd call attempt of 60 mins total when I stayed on the line even after the beep which said it was a voicemail so I left a voicemail asking them to ring me back, about 2 weeks later no response. I did send an email on the contact us page and got a response which was poor saying they could not send the missing items and that they could only refund them which I didn’t want really, I wanted the items. So I asked how I could get them without having to drive to the store, they responded with a code for free delivery which didn’t work plus I couldn’t get the same price for the same items. I responded with this problem to which they said buy it and then we will refund you the delivery charge, but yet they did not respond to the fact that I could not get the same price for the items which had been on offer. I have emailed every time saying I would prefer someone to ring me as this has been going on weeks. I have emailed again and again and they are just awful. They don’t listen to you and you can’t get through on the phones so they are basically ignoring you. My advice- if you do actually want Claire’s products only buy in store when there are offers as their customer services is just disgusting. I was also watching an ear piercing a previous week when I have shopped before and noticed the staff member looked like they had no idea what they are doing- another piece of advice- go to a proper jewellery store just in case. If I could give 0 stars this would be it. Their products are good and my niece loves them. However I would never buy for myself when you have much better and more reliable jewellers and accessories shops.

I have just witnessed a very distressing event in Claire's Accessories in the Antonine Centre, Cumbernauld. A little girl of about 5, possibly 6 but no older than that was having her ears pierced. She was looking very scared and was reluctant before it started. After the first ear was pierced she was screaming hysterically and covering her other ear to prevent it happening again but the parents continued to insist it be done. At that point I could no longer stand it and approached the group and said they needed to stop because the child was terrified. I told the assistant (who wouldn't give me her name and said I just needed to know it was a manager) that she needed to take the earring out and not do the second ear because of the state the child was in. She said she couldn't do that because the parents wanted it. I did tell her she could just say no. The father then got involved and basically told me to mind my own business, he was a doctor and had given his consent. He said if I didn't stop he would get security to take me out of the shop. That didn't happen. I have to say that at no point did the assistant ask the child if she wanted it done. It was at the very least verging on abuse. The screams of his child were so bad. If nothing else then Claire's procedures with young children needs looked at. I do not have the information about who the parents were. Just that the father said he was doctor, a neuro surgeon and the incident happened at about 3.15pm on14th October. I imagine the rest of the information would be on the consent form.

Don't bother, I paid £5.50 for next day for items for a holiday didn't arrive. Tried ringing customer services 4 times spent nearly 2 hours on hold. Tried to email 4 times no answer Next day got message from courier to contact them as paper work not done. Tried again twice more to telephone. Another hour wasted. Nothing. Emailed again with what the courier told me. Finally 3 days later got my items, but to late. Since spent another hour plus £2 parking to take the items back Worst customer service ever. I am now writing to them for my postage back DISCUSTING

Took my daughter for her first set of earrings, £16.95, no receipt given. No advice or instruction even though my 7 year old daughter e planned it was her first real set! Found out that the cheap material they use is not suitable for my daughter, returned to branch Mansfield. Spoke with manager who is clearly trained in abusing customers not helping. Stated it’s common sense that newly pierced ears may need special ear rings (not to me or the 2 Male father’s I spoke with). Told me it was known all over the world, she couldn’t name a country she had visited I had circumnavigated the globe and never heard such rubbish! Called my daughter a liar After my daughter explained she had told the lady it was recently pierced. Overall toxic, offensive, disgusting service and excuse after excuse avoiding responsibility of highlighting: • earring products £16.95 couldn’t be returned (irrespective that they had not even been taken out of packet, it’s not staff responsibility to highlight issues like above. Not staff responsibility to give receipts. The whole experience was shoddy, cheap and extremely offensive, when not accepting all the ladies excuses she stated do t shout! When no shouting had occurred and then goosed a piece of paper with Claire’s website address on as a way to formal complain!!!! No tel number, no contact details no specific person. And a threat that she was contacting head office to say I had caused a scene in store!!! Clearly not on the website she gave me! I did get a generic 0345 number online, 17 mins in hold, no human connection line went dead. Rang back 16 mins and answer message kicked in. These have all the operations of a company ready to go bust, who have no direct person to contact with what will clearly be issues. Upon further investigation into Individual stores scores on google (it wouldn’t let me leave a review) they are at 3.. Complaints seem to be ignored, swerved and staff clearly happy to be offensive to customers, to lie to customers and avoid informing people of caveats to money back! Back street charlatans with staff to match. Has a father I was discriminated against and would say to any customer looking to buy from these Give your money to any other company than these They are vile to deal with I have wasted £17 on in incompetence of Thor staff, and been abused in the process. I will take this to small claims court put a judgement against them In court that’s the only way these company’s learn. Don’t let them rip You off of hard earned money Then hide behind the actions of above

I needed to contact someone at Claires after my daughter ended up in A&E with a problem with her earring - made worse by in untrained and inept staff in our local branch. Have just phone the customer service number and been on hold for 20 minutes. Appalling. zero stars rating. completely unprofessional.

Don't ever use this company. I ordered click and collect it should take 2/4 working days to get to store. I phoned on day 5 I was on hold twice both for 20 minutes before being cut of and when I phoned head office the receptionist just laughed out loud and said so. First time customer and will deffo be the last. Never use this company. If I could pick zero stars then I would pick that. Not even worth one star on Customer service
