About

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind in a warm and welcoming setting, take a look at the Ropery.

This stunning old ropeworks on the banks of the Wear is a perfect setting for a stroll before pre-dinner drinks. The riverside bar is cosy and warm, with a roaring fire, great range of drinks and subtle background music \u2013 the ideal place to meet friends, enjoy a family gathering or listen to a live band.

Originally built in 1793 and restored between 1985 and 1987.
The original building was lovingly restored and is now home to leisure and commercial facilities.

The Ropery is now the ideal venue for a special occasion function, a meal, business meeting or just great drinks and great food. With live music, a prime location and a building steeped in history, The Ropery has it all under one roof.

We have a Function Suite for hire.

Priscilla's Tex Mex Palace is now open, the only Mexican in Sunderland.

Very classy establishment and not packed to the walls with kids. If you want a relaxing drink with loved ones or friends this is the place to go.
