Dive in
I like the black bull, it has cheap(ish) drinks, bandits that pay out, good music and a general good atmosphere. Downsides... it's a dive! The toilets (gents) I would only go in if I was looking to catch something, 9 out of 10 times the hand dryer doesn't work and the overall look of the insides are shoddy... but I satill go ... but never on a tuesday (too friendly on a tuesday)

Very popular
the black bull is very popular and therefore gets very busy. the bar is towards the back of the pub so you have to push your way through sometimes. but the drinks are cheap the music is ok and the atmosphere is good. its an easy good place to go at the start of the night although it is at the back of the town centre so you pass loads of other good places on the way so it might just be easier to go elsewhere. there tends be quite a big police presence around this area of time too, probably because its where the drunks tend to end up. so i'd recommend ending the night elsewhere too.
