A new restaurant has opened in South Tyneside and promises to deliver a dining experience like no other. Kylin Buffet, in Ocean Road, directly opposite the museum, is the only sit-down Chinese restaurant in South Shields. Set over two floors, with a contemporary interior design, the restaurant has a total of 200 seats and serves more than 100 varieties of food during the Grand Buffet. As well as Chinese, it offers seafood, Thai, Japanese and Indian dishes. The business can cater for private parties of 20 people at one of its round tables, as well as up to 65 people in a semi-private function area. Business lunch meetings, large groups of people, and families with young children and pushchairs are welcome. And people can celebrate their birthday free at the restaurant if there are eight or more adults after 6.30pm (only the birthday boy or girl eats for nothing, and ID and proof of age is required.
