South Gosforth Social Club has been in its present location for many years, starting off as a club in the original Laburnum Cottage before expanding into its present size.
What more can anyone say about their favorite watering hole.Well lets start by informing you that the club was established way back in the 1950s and has been extended & modernised over the years. The current club is as the photo shows on the homepage. There is ample parking around the building is very close to local transport, only 50 yards from the cities “metro" system. The club has great support from its regular users , as well as the friendly staff who are always on hand to help and serve. All aided by its established steward and organised committee. The main entrance is by security intercom (well we don't let any riff raff in, do we?).There are 3 bars, fully stocked with top quality spirits and popular beers, lagers &. bar snacks, all at competitive prices. The main corridor has information on notice boards, gaming machine and lotto card machine are located there also. The Main Bar has comfortable seating with a pool table, darts area and other bar games like dominoes can be played. The Lounge has a half circle arrangment, with a higher and lower level
seating. The Concert Room has a staged area at one end and bar the other, the seating capacity is 180 to 200 people. This is where the main entertainment takes place. The lounge capacity can be hired for small events like wakes, parties etc. But if you require a bigger room then the Concert rooms ideal with a 180 capacity, ideal for birthdays, retirements,etc.. Contact the club steward for bookings.

South Gosforth Social has great bands on most Fridays, but you normally have to get there reasonably early, by 7.15, or else you'll have trouble finding seats. It has a good atmosphere. I will look at the paper, each Friday, to see what is on!!!
