Extremely bad service

Phipps motors agreed to purchase my car. They reviewed all documentation, took the car for a drive and had a look under the car & bonnet before this was agreed. We then swapped numbers and agreed a date. I was even asked to confirm i would stop looking for any other offers from other dealers, which i did. My insurance was cancelled, I purchased another car, the garage texted me the night before I dropped the car off to confirm all was going ahead, and then when I went to drop the car off I was told they wanted another look, and then no longer wanted the car as it was 'rotten and needs a new clutch'. I can confirm that this is not the case, as my Dad is my mechanic & the car was only MOT'd 2 months ago (independently). I was informed that the only advice they could offer me was that I scrap the car. This was complete nonsense as I was lucky enough to find another dealer to purchase the car for the same price they had promised me just 2 hours later. This garage has extremely bad customer service, and I would strongly advise anyone wanting to sell/buy cars not to trust them.
