Scenic and pleasant

Situated right beside the Thames, with a garden which has a (now locked) gate onto the tow-path. This is an ideal place to stop off for some refreshment on a fine day. But for its location the pub is mix of quaint and modern, a little "up-market", but otherwise unremarkable. On days of the best weather it has a tendency to become overly busy, and loses some of its charm, but overall a good spot to while away a relaxing afternoon with select company. The pub also serves food (including a barbecue kitchen built in the garden which often sees use in good weather). Be warned, though - the pub has been known to be caught on the hop and run out of fairly basic offerings when it gets particularly busy. Staff attitude varies. Although service behind the bar is usually friendly and helpful, waiting staff can sometimes be a little surly or disinterested (which I took to be tiredness after a long day).
