I love it here. If all Indian restaurants were like this then the world would be a better place! It is located slightly off the beaten track at the back end of Sutton, near the Royal Marsden hospital. Most locals know of it - it has been going for over 12 years. I would class this restaurant as being for special occassions, however I know many that frequent it more often. The price is a little above average, but then this is no average restaurant. The menu has all the usual favourites, the food is multi-award winning; it is always fresh, they quite clearly use excellent ingredients and they are only too happy to cater for your needs - just ask. The portion sizes are just right too.The menu also carries a number of dishes you will not find on standard Indian restaurant menus, my personal favourite being Mirchwagan Korma. Now Korma's are mild, right? Wrong. This is a traditional regional dish which will blast your head clean off - it is not for the faint hearted - a shear culinary delight. You will need several beers to go with it, I warn you now, but if you can palate a hot one give it a try! The fact there is a warning on the restaurant menu letting you know it is particularly hot should be warning enough, but many choose to ignore it at their peril...Service is usually great, I cannot say perfect as I have had one blip where I left rather dissapointed, but this has has never put me off returning as the food is so damn good. Usually I go in a larger group of people when going here, but they are very flexible to all sizes of party big or small.Dress code is smart casual - this is not a trainers and t-shirt venue. The atmosphere is relaxed, you can really unwind and have a good time.

Although by all accounts the food here is great, I have to say I didn't really get to experience it on the occasion I went. The restaurant is tiny, and as far as i'm concerned they crowd you in like cattle! We had a very small table and were practically elbow to elbow with another couple which I didn't really appreciate - i'd rather they just didn't take our reservation if that was going to be the case. As it was we only stayed for starters because the food was so long coming out that we decided not to bother! Don't get me wrong i'm sure the food is great and if you go there on a week night it's probably not as bad, but I didn't really like the place.
