Nice traditional italian

This place was recommended by friends and also on this website, so we gave it a try last night. The restaurant is a typical traditional Italian, staffed by Italians, and was fairly full and lively at around 8pm. There was a wide range of ages of customers, ranging from families, people in their twenties and people in their seventies. It's not posh or formal - a lot of people were in jeans and casual clothes. It isn't as small as I'd imagined and I wouldn't describe it as cosy, but the staff are friendly and service was very prompt. The printed menu is what I would describe as fairly standard fare (pasta, pizza, meat dishes etc) but there is an extensive specials board with a variety of other things to choose from. The food was lovely - very tasty and generous portions. And the dessert trolley was amazing - I could have had one of each! Overall, it was a really pleasant evening - an above-average restaurant, where the food is probably better than I'd imagined. I wouldn't go there for a special occasion, but we will definitely return. Price; £73 for 2 people, 3 courses (including a huge steak!), wine and coffee. Pretty good I think.

From Egham....to Italy!

I took my husband to Villa Rosa for a Valentines meal this weekend, as we were staying up the road at the Runnymede Hotel. I must admit I was slightly unsure, as the restaurant only had one review on the internet (albeit a glowing one) and not knowing anyone else that had been I was a bit sceptical. However, after a fantastic 3 course meal, fast and efficient service and a briliant 'authentic Italian' atmosphere I am now raving about it to everyone I know!!! Infact, the dessert trolley is a reason to visit all on its own!Its a little gem tucked away in the quiet high street of Egham town centre. Well known by the locals, it was packed full and people in the local pubs all knew it well. The prices were very reasonable, our 3 courses each and drinks all came in under £50.To sum it up - we enjoyed everything about it and even though there is not much press on this place, I will definitely be recommending this to people and will definietly be going back again soon. :O>

I've been eating at Villa Rosa for many years - it's a great owner managed Italian restaurant. The specials incude spagetti with clams and cherry tomatoes, a favourite and a lovely sea bass. The pizza's are always good, and we always start with the bruscetta...Add a very naughty desert trolley and the best coffee in town and it explains why we keep coming back. And I forgot the always excellet authentic Italian servce with a smile!
