Overview

We at The White Horse are proud to stock a variety of Cask Ales from the independent brewers of East Anglia. There are normally a minimum of two local ales and we change our selection regularly to allow our customers to enjoy a variety of brews. To date we have stocked ales from Nethergate, Woodforde's, Earl Adnams, Brandon and St. Peter's breweries. We also stock Suffolk cider and two lagers

Our lunch menus and evening menus feature dishes (a children's menu is also available) made on the premises using ingredients that we source wherever we can from local growers and producers.

We offer a range of popular traditional pub dishes as well as a selection of speciality items. We also cater for business lunches, weddings, christenings, birthdays, anniversaries, family get togethers and coach parties by appointment. We also have a temporary dance floor we can fit and lay for more lively celebrations!! Need a Celebration Cake? – no problem. We can supply fantastic cakes for any occasion, any design, any theme.

History

The White Horse was originally a staging post for travellers between London and Norwich, and there was a blacksmith's workshop attached to the pub.

In the late 17th century a notorious local highwayman was arrested and tried for his crimes. A hearing was conducted in the room that is now the public bar and being found guilty, he was hanged from a tree close by.
