The Plough Inn is located right in the heart of Doncaster town centre on West Laith Gate. As soon as you arrive outside, you know what you are getting. There is no loud music blaring from the inside and no mass of youths outside smoking. This is a genuinely friendly, traditional working men's (and women's!) pub. And I couldn't be any more pleased. The Landlord and lady (Rod and Val) are friendly and the beer is as good as anywhere else I have been to in the town. I can particularly recommend the Barnsley bitter. They have two small screens that usually have the sport on in the background (often the racing to suit the majority) but it isn't really a place to go to watch the match on a weekend. They have darts and a quiz through the week but it is a Saturday and Sunday lunchtime that I enjoy the most. The banter is good and the crowd friendly. Please don't change!
