Very Tasty!
This little tea room on a working farm north of Scunthorpe is well worth the drive into the countryside. Sandwiches, toasties, breakfasts, soup, quiche and jacket potatoes as well as tea, coffee and the best hot chocolate ever, with real whipped cream, marshmallows and a flake. The quiche was really tasty and the homemade cakes are out of this world. I had the pear, cherry and marzipan cake which was gorgeous and I will be returning to sample the yummy looking scones and other cakes such as the chocolate and beetroot cake and coconut and lime cake. You can sit inside or out or in the small summer house for those that like sitting inside outside! Open Thursday - Sunday. While in Alkborough it is worth taking in the view from Julain's Bower - one of the three remaining turf mazes in the country - on a clear day you can see York Minster.
