The Lynch Country House bed and breakfast is a classic English country house set in beautiful and peaceful, secluded gardens. A real 'Hidden Gem' that you wouldn't even know was there and a little haven for a bit of peace and quiet, quality time away from the hustle and bustle of the wider World just beyond the trees. The House

The Lynch Country House bed and breakfast is a Grade II listed property built around 1810 in the fashionable Paladian style, based on the works of Andreas Paladio (1508-1580) and is a classic example of Georgian architecture strongly based on symmetry, perspective and values of formal classical temple structure.

It features a period 'Sun Bonnet Lantern' at the apex of the house designed to flood the central core of the building with sunlight and provides an excellent observation deck for viewing the surrounding area. Guests can walk off breakfast with a trip to the top of the house which, on a clear day, provides far reaching views of the grounds, Somerton and beyond.

The name 'The Lynch' originates from the definition of the word meaning 'A ridge or terrace on the face of a down' and the house stands on the top of the ridge leading down to the valley of the Cary river. Over 2800 trees were planted on the land belonging to the estate some 20 years ago and our more adventurous guests are most welcome to explore the woods which are home to much wildlife.

The well tended grounds include a large lawned area, topiary, a rill, many specimen trees and flowers and its own lake stocked with a variety of ornamental fish and our famous resident Black Swans.

Bed and Breakfast" sounds easy but, all too often, it seems to be anything but.

We take both our beds and our breakfasts very seriously to ensure that we fulfil our part of the deal and leave you, just possibly, fancying that extra hour in bed!

We have three room categories at The Lynch Country House but all offer the same British, 5 star, hand made, mattresses found in some of the better hotels in Britain, covered with fabulous Goose Down and Feather duvets and pillows and finished with crisp white linen from Liddell, The Original Irish linen company, to ensure you get the very best and most comfortable nights sleep.

All rooms have luxury fluffy white bathrobes and towels for extra comfort and our Mandarin and Bergamot bath toiletries are supplied by Duck Island, a sustainable and environmentally friendly business whose products, as well as never being tested on animals also contain no Parabens (nasty little preservatives that are getting some bad press!) and live up to their monika as ‘Life’s little luxury’.

All rooms have flat screen TV’s and offer complimentary Wi-Fi access for your convenience.
