I think Zizzis is ideal if you want something less formulaeic than a pizza chain, though it's large open plan setting gives it a vibrant rather than intimate atmosphere. We went on a pre Christmas Friday evening. It was obviously busy but they quickly found a table for two. Service was good, and the food was good.

I can't say I like this particular Zizzi's much. It is always too loud and dark in there, as well as being ridiculously warm. My disdain for this chain probably shows, but there have been other branches which have left me a bit warmer to the brand name. At least the quality of the food is good, and is probably a great choice for groups with finicky eaters. A crowd-pleaser.

Zizzi's is an expanding chain, and it is not hard to see why it is so popular. A wide range of choice, friendly staff, quick service and great value add up to a winning formula. I have tried the rissottos, pizzas and pastas, but I recommend the calzones. These are exceptionally flavoursome, made with a delicious combination of fresh ingredients, and are very reasonably priced. The desserts are also excellent, the apple mela comes strongly recommended! The ambience inside is warm, welcoming and comforting yet also sophisticated and classy. It's no wonder Zizzi's is a cut above the likes of other Mediterranean high street eateries like Pizza Express or Bella Italia.

A fab Mediterranean restaurant. I've been there on several occasions and I've always found the food and service great. It is great and relaxing around lunch time especially, a good time to take the kids there too - they do provide highchairs. As for the evenings, especially during weekends it does get very busy & does have a more festive atmosphere, especially if there are groups of parties. The staff are friendly and very helpful, they sometimes give you free apetisers and in our case buiscuits for the kids. Pizzas are made right in front of you; and they sometimes like to put a bit of a show by throwing them in the air, etc... The food is really delicious; I recommend the Pizzas of course! The starters & deserts are fine as well but in my opinion not as good value compared to the main meals. You can often find 50% off vouchers or 2for1 in newspapers or on the net so it's worth a look before you go!

Reliable food for everyone

A very modern but laid back restaurant - perfect for going out with the other half yet also with friends or a large group of people. There is a wide range of pizzas, pasta dishes and salads all reasonably priced. There are also a couple of risotto dishes available - the Risotto di Pesce is particularly tasty! I was slightly disappointed with the desserts as they were all very rich and filling, and I was expecting there to be at least one light (and vaguely healthy!) dessert. I also expected there to be a wider range of wines available by the bottle. The meals are very similar to Pizza Express, but the atmosphere seems classier. Zizzi would suit anyone and everyone and is an ideal place to go for both lunch and dinner.
