Quidmarket provided a fixed amount as agreed. Yet after the funds deposited, the agreement was thoroughly read; which showed several errors: *The APR was calculated incorrectly, meaning once I had paid what was agreed, there would be a shortfall and I would owe them an extra ~£35. *The loaned amount was recorded £30 more than what they deposited; as a result the total amount was incorrect etc. So, I wrote to QM in formal complaint asking why these changes had been made but not agreed to. No response was received within 14 days, so a follow up letter was sent advising that until they respond I will only be making token payments of 10% of the "loaned" amount, a single payment was made at the same time. Again no response until two weeks ago when I started received very threatening emails and abusive calls stating that the amount owed now was 2x the total amount payable and ignoring my prior payment. I explained my concerns, which they ignored blatently, simply stating that "if you dont pay the amount written in your signed agreement, then we will contact the courts and get them to take the money from your employer, we've already spoken to your employers payroll department who confirms you're receiving a salary of £x on X of each month" Obviously this isnt the case as Payroll dont discuss financial matters with third parties, when quizzed on this, QM's response was "We never breach DPA and just contact your employer to ensure your still working so when we get the court to speak to your employer you have money they can take". So, following on from this, I sent a recorded delivery letter again two days ago, asking that they address my concerns in formal complaint. This morning I received an email from QM stating that they have filed an application with the county courts against me, and I have "14 days to pay, or they will instruct the courts to contact my employer". Clearly they know nothing of the legal system in the uk and consumer rights, but I intend on fighting this and thought I would post this so you are all aware of the conduct of QM. They will make all reasonable attempts to mislead and defraud you, and should you question their fraud, they will simply dig their heels in and file a court claim. Unfortunately for them, with two barristers in the family, I have ample legal counsel should I require it. Be warned!
